The AOC C27G4H2 is a 27-inch curved, 1080p VA gaming monitor rated for up to 200 Hz—not 144 Hz or 240 Hz. It may suit buyers who want a high refresh rate at Full HD, but the right choice depends just as much on resolution, connection, panel, and the frame rate your PC can deliver. Compare exact specifications rather than choosing by refresh-rate label alone.
What refresh rate is the AOC C27G4H2?
AOC’s US product page lists the C27G4H2 at a maximum of 200 Hz. That places it between the 144 Hz and 240 Hz categories in the title; it is not an exact example of either. AOC’s published specifications are manufacturer claims, not independent performance measurements. See AOC’s C27G4H2 specifications.
Check the full model name before comparing listings. AOC lists the separate C27G4H at 180 Hz, while its C27G4ZH product page advertises 280 Hz. Similar names do not make those products interchangeable, and the C27G4ZH page’s accompanying leaflet is headed C27G4H and shows 180 Hz. Verify the exact retail SKU and its manual rather than carrying specifications from one suffix to another. C27G4H2, C27G4H leaflet, C27G4ZH page.
How does the C27G4H2 compare with a 144 Hz or 240 Hz monitor?
The available manufacturer specifications do not establish a particular 27-inch 144 Hz model and 240 Hz model for a fair, model-by-model ranking. The comparison below therefore separates verified C27G4H2 specifications from general buying considerations; it does not imply that every monitor in a refresh-rate tier has the same features.

What matters besides the refresh-rate number?
Resolution and pixel density
The C27G4H2 is Full HD (1920 × 1080) across 27 inches; AOC lists its pixel density as 82 PPI. If you want more desktop detail or sharper text at that screen size, compare it with a QHD (2560 × 1440) option. Higher resolution also asks more of the graphics card, so consider the games you play and the frame rates your system can sustain rather than treating resolution as a free upgrade.
AOC’s Q27G4 illustrates this tradeoff: it is a 27-inch QHD Fast IPS monitor, not a 240 Hz alternative. AOC specifies 180 Hz at 2560 × 1440 over DisplayPort 1.4, but 144 Hz at that resolution over HDMI 2.0. The connection can therefore change the maximum supported refresh even on the same monitor. - 27” QHD IPS DISPLAY: Enjoy stunning detail and vibrant color with a 2560x1440 Quad HD resolution on a 27-inch IPS panel, offering wide viewing angles and precise image quality.
- 240HZ REFRESH RATE & 0.3MS RESPONSE TIME: Take competitive gaming to the next level with a blazing-fast 240Hz refresh rate (via DisplayPort) and ultra-responsive 0.3ms MPRT for minimal blur and maximum clarity.
- ADAPTIVE-SYNC SUPPORT: Say goodbye to screen tearing and input lag with Adaptive-Sync for fluid, uninterrupted performance across both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs.
- TILT ADJUSTMENT: Customize your setup with -3° to +21° tilt range for ergonomic positioning.
- ENHANCED GAMING FEATURES: Includes Shadow Control, Game Mode presets, and a user-friendly graphical OSD menu for fast and intuitive performance tuning.
Panel type and screen shape
The C27G4H2 has a VA panel and a 1500R curve. The Q27G4 uses Fast IPS. Those are concrete differences, but the specifications alone cannot say which panel or shape you will prefer. Consider whether you want a curved display and compare the specific models’ published features; do not infer image quality or motion performance from “VA” or “IPS” alone.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteInput, adaptive sync, and response-time claims
The C27G4H2 has two HDMI 2.0 inputs and one DisplayPort 1.4 input, and AOC lists Adaptive Sync. The Q27G4 page says G-Sync compatible. Confirm the resolution-and-refresh combination for the port, graphics card, and configuration you plan to use; these labels should not be assumed to mean identical support in every setup.
Rank #3
- ULTRA-FAST GAMING: Experience gaming at a new level with a 280Hz refresh rate and 0.3ms response time, delivering unparalleled smoothness and precision.
- CURVED FOR IMMERSION: The 1500R curvature provides a more engaging and immersive viewing experience, perfect for gaming and multimedia.
- VIVID COLORS AND CONTRAST: Enjoy vibrant visuals with HDR readiness and a high dynamic contrast ratio, enhancing every detail in your games and movies.
- COMFORT AND FLEXIBILITY: Flicker-Free technology and Adaptive Sync combine to ensure comfort during long gaming sessions and fluid, tear-free gameplay.
- ERGONOMIC DESIGN: Features extensive adjustability with tilt, swivel, and height options, along with VESA compatibility for diverse mounting possibilities.
AOC gives the C27G4H2 response figures as 1 ms GtG and 0.3 ms MPRT. These are different measurement labels, not two directly interchangeable descriptions of measured real-world performance. The cited product specifications do not provide independent response-time or input-lag tests, so they cannot establish how the monitor compares with a particular 144 Hz or 240 Hz rival in practice.
When should you choose each refresh-rate tier?
Choose 144 Hz when the full package suits your needs
A 144 Hz display can be a sensible choice if a specific model gives you the resolution, panel, connections, and price you want. The refresh-rate label alone does not make it a better or worse buy than the C27G4H2; compare the actual model specifications and your intended use.

Choose the C27G4H2 when its combination fits
Consider the C27G4H2 if you want a 27-inch curved Full HD VA monitor with a manufacturer-rated maximum refresh of 200 Hz. Its appeal is that combination of screen shape, resolution, panel, and refresh—not proof that it outperforms a 144 Hz or 240 Hz monitor. AOC’s US page displayed a starting price of $109.99 when crawled in 2026; that is a time- and region-specific listing, not a guaranteed current price. Check the current AOC listing.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Choose 240 Hz only if the exact model and your setup justify it
A 240 Hz label may be a priority if you are comparing a particular model and expect to make use of its supported refresh. Check that your PC, connection, game, and settings can deliver the frame rates you want, then weigh the monitor’s resolution and other features. The available specifications do not establish a universal real-world advantage of 240 Hz over 144 Hz, or a frame-rate threshold that applies to every system.

How to make the final comparison
- Match the exact model. Record the full model name and suffix from the product page or listing; do not assume C27G4H2, C27G4H, and C27G4ZH share specifications.
- Choose a resolution. Decide whether 1920 × 1080 at 27 inches or a higher-resolution option better fits your priorities and PC.
- Check the connection you will use. Look up the supported refresh at your chosen resolution for that exact input, not just the monitor’s headline maximum.
- Compare panel and practical features. Check panel type, curved or flat design, adaptive-sync support, stand adjustments, and the ports you need.
- Compare current local offers. Verify the current price, stock, seller, warranty terms, and exact SKU in your region; listings can change.
Verdict
The AOC C27G4H2 is a 200 Hz, 27-inch Full HD curved VA monitor, so it occupies a distinct middle ground rather than being a 144 Hz or 240 Hz model. Choose it if that particular combination fits your budget and preferences. Choose another refresh-rate tier when a specific competing model better meets your resolution, connection, panel, or system needs; the supplied specifications do not support naming a universal winner.
