AGON by AOC has announced the AGON PRO AGP257FT, a 24.5-inch Full HD esports monitor with a manufacturer-rated native refresh rate of 1,000Hz and an optional overclocked mode up to 1,050Hz. AOC expects it to become available from Q1 2027, but has not announced a price.
What AOC has announced
The AGP257FT is a model-specific display aimed at professional esports and other fast-paced competitive games. AOC’s 30 September 2026 announcement and product page describe a 1920 × 1080 oxide-based Fast IPS panel. The 1,000Hz specification is the native mode; 1,050Hz is the overclocked maximum, not the standard rate. AOC says both modes can be used over DisplayPort 2.1 or HDMI 2.1.
These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. The announcement does not establish how the monitor performs in real games or whether players will see a practical advantage over lower-refresh-rate displays.

What the refresh-rate claim does—and does not—tell you
A 1,000Hz refresh rate means the display is specified to refresh up to 1,000 times per second in its native mode. The optional 1,050Hz setting requires overclocking. To make use of either mode, a gaming system must also output a sufficiently high frame rate, and the game, graphics hardware, connection and settings all matter. The announcement does not provide system requirements or independent measurements showing the monitor’s motion clarity, input performance, or results at either rate.
AOC lists two response-time figures: 0.3ms GtG (gray-to-gray), identified in the announcement as a minimum, and 0.1ms MPRT (moving picture response time). These are different measurement types and should not be compared as though they were the same test. The MPRT claim is listed alongside motion blur reduction. The published figures alone do not show how the display handles motion in real-world use.

- 27” QHD IPS DISPLAY: Enjoy stunning detail and vibrant color with a 2560x1440 Quad HD resolution on a 27-inch IPS panel, offering wide viewing angles and precise image quality.
- 240HZ REFRESH RATE & 0.3MS RESPONSE TIME: Take competitive gaming to the next level with a blazing-fast 240Hz refresh rate (via DisplayPort) and ultra-responsive 0.3ms MPRT for minimal blur and maximum clarity.
- ADAPTIVE-SYNC SUPPORT: Say goodbye to screen tearing and input lag with Adaptive-Sync for fluid, uninterrupted performance across both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs.
- TILT ADJUSTMENT: Customize your setup with -3° to +21° tilt range for ergonomic positioning.
- ENHANCED GAMING FEATURES: Includes Shadow Control, Game Mode presets, and a user-friendly graphical OSD menu for fast and intuitive performance tuning.
TechRadar’s 1 October 2026 commentary questions whether most players need such a high refresh rate and notes that sustained frame rates and the rest of the PC matter. That is general consumer context, not a test of the AGP257FT.
Display features and connections
Beyond its speed-focused specifications, AOC lists DisplayHDR 400, 20-zone local dimming, 450-nit typical brightness, and the stated sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage. These claims describe the manufacturer’s feature set; they do not substitute for independent assessment of image quality, HDR performance, or color accuracy.

The port selection comprises two HDMI 2.1 inputs and one DisplayPort 2.1 connector, plus a headphone output and a USB hub. AOC specifies three USB-A ports rated at 5Gbps, with BC1.2 fast charging on one. The stand is specified to adjust for height by 150mm and to tilt, swivel and pivot. AOC also lists a QuickSwitch keypad, Light FX lighting, a headset hook, measurement markings, quick release, and picture-in-picture/picture-by-picture support.
Release timing and price
AOC expects the AGON PRO AGP257FT to be available from Q1 2027. The company says local European pricing will be announced closer to launch. No price, exact regional release date, live retail listing, or current purchase availability was stated in the 30 September 2026 announcement.

What remains unknown
The announcement establishes an unusually high manufacturer-rated refresh rate and a detailed feature list, but not the monitor’s practical performance. Independent testing would be needed to assess motion clarity, image quality, input performance, and whether the 1,000Hz native or 1,050Hz overclocked mode yields a meaningful benefit in particular games and PC configurations. No head-to-head test against competing monitors was provided.
