The ANTHBOT M9 Pro’s quad-fusion navigation proved dependable in Notebookcheck’s mowing test, including after reviewers disconnected power to its RTK antenna. That is encouraging for gardens where satellite reception may be interrupted, but it is not proof that the mower will navigate equally well on every property. More importantly, the same review found poor detection of several small obstacles, and the centered cutting disc leaves a gap at raised edges. At a reported European MSRP of €1,299, the Pro’s main case over the standard M9 is its added LiDAR—not better obstacle avoidance, edge cutting, or coverage per charge.
What quad-fusion navigation means on the M9 Pro
The M9 Pro is a wire-free robotic mower rated for lawns up to 1,000 m². ANTHBOT describes its navigation as a combination of 360° LiDAR, RTK/NetRTK positioning, and dual AI vision. Its EU product page says users can skip installing a physical RTK station by using LiDAR and NetRTK; the company also promotes automatic mapping and setup in three minutes. Those setup details are manufacturer claims, not independently timed results. ANTHBOT’s M9 Pro product page.
In Notebookcheck’s test, the reviewers disconnected power to the RTK antenna while the mower was cutting. It continued to follow its mapped paths reliably and accurately. Passages around 70 cm were generally manageable. However, the test property was not especially challenging for satellite reception, so this result shows that the mower handled that test condition; it does not establish how it will perform in every garden or prove that RTK can be disregarded in all circumstances. Notebookcheck’s review.
The result supports a narrower conclusion than ANTHBOT’s launch description of “reliable All-Scenario Auto-Pilot”: the navigation remained on its mapped routes during one RTK power-disconnection test. The review does not establish universal performance across all satellite conditions, gardens, or obstacle types. ANTHBOT’s July 20, 2026 launch release.

Does the ANTHBOT M9 Pro work under trees?
The combination of LiDAR, RTK/NetRTK, and vision is intended to give the mower multiple sources of navigation information. Notebookcheck’s RTK-disconnection test offers some evidence that the M9 Pro can keep following a mapped route without active RTK antenna power in the conditions tested. But the review’s test site was not particularly difficult for satellite reception, and it does not report a dedicated under-tree trial. There is therefore no independent result here confirming performance beneath dense tree cover. If your lawn has tree-heavy areas, treat the test as promising but not a guarantee for those zones.
How well does the M9 Pro avoid obstacles?
Obstacle avoidance was the clearest weakness in Notebookcheck’s review. The mower consistently detected a garden hose, but detected a ball about 10 cm across only occasionally. It ran over both a mock hedgehog and a tennis ball. Repeating the tests with the latest firmware available to the reviewer did not materially change the results. These are specific review observations, not a prediction for every object or firmware version.

ANTHBOT’s launch release says the AI recognizes more than 1,000 obstacle types. That is a manufacturer claim; it should not be read as a guarantee that the mower will safely identify small objects in your lawn. ANTHBOT’s launch release.
Before scheduling a mowing session, remove small items such as balls and toys, and do not rely on the mower to protect animals or other objects that could be harmed by contact. The review’s results make supervision and a clear lawn particularly important when small obstacles may be present.

How close to the edge does the M9 Pro cut?
The M9 Pro uses a centrally placed 20 cm, five-blade cutting disc. Notebookcheck estimates about 9 cm between the disc and the mower’s outer edge. That spacing can leave an unmowed strip beside raised borders or other boundaries the mower cannot straddle. A mapped boundary overhang can help at flush transitions, where the mower can pass the edge, but the review found no improvement in edge mowing over the standard M9.
ANTHBOT claims the M9 Pro can pass through a 65 cm path; Notebookcheck found passages around 70 cm generally manageable in its test. These figures describe different sources and conditions, so allow room for your actual passage and verify that turns and approach angles are not tighter than the straight gap. |---|---|
| Rated lawn area | Up to 1,000 m² |
| Cutting width and disc | 20 cm; five blades |
| Cutting-height range | 3–7 cm, electrically adjusted |
| Battery | 5 Ah / 90 Wh |
| Listed slope capability | Up to 45% / 24° |
| Weight | 10 kg |

M9 Pro vs. standard M9: what does the premium buy?
Notebookcheck’s 2026 comparison lists both models with a 1,000 m² rated lawn area, 20 cm cutting width, 3–7 cm cutting-height range, 45% / 24° slope rating, and 5 Ah / 90 Wh battery. The main stated navigation difference is that the Pro adds 360° LiDAR to RTK/NetRTK and dual AI vision. Notebookcheck lists European suggested retail prices of €1,299 for the Pro and €849 for the standard M9.
| Comparison | M9 Pro | Standard M9 |
|---|---|---|
| Navigation listed in the review | 360° LiDAR, RTK/NetRTK, and dual AI vision | RTK/NetRTK and dual AI vision |
| European MSRP listed by Notebookcheck (2026) | €1,299 | €849 |
| Rated lawn area | 1,000 m² | 1,000 m² |
| Cutting width | 20 cm | 20 cm |
| Cutting-height range | 3–7 cm | 3–7 cm |
| Slope rating | 45% / 24° | 45% / 24° |
| Battery | 5 Ah / 90 Wh | 5 Ah / 90 Wh |
| Coverage per charge in Notebookcheck’s test area | Almost 250 m² in just over two hours | About 50 m² more than the Pro in that test |
| Small-obstacle and edge-cutting findings | Small objects were sometimes missed or run over; raised edges can leave a strip | The review found no Pro improvement in edge mowing; its test found about 50 m² more coverage per charge |
The review’s RTK-disconnection observation favors the Pro’s navigation story, but it does not show that the standard M9 would fail on the same property. The practical reason to pay more is the Pro’s added LiDAR and the possibility that its combined navigation approach better suits your layout—not a demonstrated advantage in obstacle avoidance or edge finish. If you are choosing between them, weigh that navigation feature against the Pro’s higher listed European MSRP and lower per-charge coverage in Notebookcheck’s test.
Price, availability, and what is included
Notebookcheck reported a European MSRP of €1,299 and availability through Amazon.de in its September 12, 2026 review; ANTHBOT’s EU page displayed the same price when accessed on October 7, 2026. These are European-market data points, and listings, stock, prices, and bundle contents can change. Check your local seller’s current listing before buying.
The review says a garage is not part of the standard specification, although bundles may be offered. ANTHBOT’s July 2026 launch release described a garage for qualifying preorders through its official store while supplies lasted. Do not assume a current listing includes one; check the bundle contents and confirm compatibility before buying a separate garage. Notebookcheck’s review; ANTHBOT’s launch release.
