Anomali announced on January 17, 2018, that it had closed an oversubscribed $40 million Series D funding round led by Lumia Capital. The company said it would use the funding to grow in the United States and internationally and continue developing cybersecurity solutions. At the time, Anomali said its total investment across four rounds had reached $96 million.
Who invested in Anomali’s Series D?
Lumia Capital led the round. Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners (DTCP), Telstra, and Sozo Ventures also participated, alongside returning investors GV, General Catalyst, IVP, and Paladin Capital Group, according to Anomali’s January 17, 2018 announcement.
The $96 million cumulative investment figure was the company’s stated total as of that announcement, covering four rounds; it should not be read as a current lifetime funding total.

Anomali said the funds would support growth in the United States and internationally, as well as continued development of its cybersecurity solutions. CEO Hugh Njemanze said the investors positioned the company for growth in Europe, Japan, and Australia. In its January 17, 2018 coverage, TechCrunch described the intended international focus as Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. The regional descriptions differ, so they are best understood as separately attributed accounts of the company’s plans at the time.

TechCrunch also reported that Njemanze said the round had closed the week before the public announcement.
What did Anomali’s threat intelligence platform do in 2018?
In the 2018 release, Anomali described software intended to help organizations detect, investigate, and respond to external threats. The company said its products integrated with internal infrastructure to help identify new attacks and search for evidence of past breaches. This is the company’s announcement-era description, not an independent assessment of effectiveness.

In explaining the platform, Njemanze told TechCrunch: “Upon discovery of a new breach type, Anomali can determine in real time if the network has already been attacked.” That statement was a company claim quoted in the contemporary report, not independently validated performance evidence.

Which products did Anomali name at the time?
Anomali’s release named ThreatStream, Anomali Match, and STAXX among products that received new capabilities during 2017. It described STAXX as a free tool for collecting and sharing threat intelligence, and Anomali Limo as a free, out-of-the-box intelligence feed. These are historical product descriptions from the 2018 announcement; they do not establish present availability or current terms.

What is Anomali’s current product context?
Anomali’s press room lists a May 5, 2026 launch of ThreatStream Next-Gen and currently presents threat intelligence, SIEM, and XDR capabilities, as well as threat intelligence feeds in its marketplace. That later listing is separate from the 2018 funding announcement. It does not, by itself, establish detailed specifications, pricing, availability by geography, or comparative performance.
