Anomali announced a $30 million Series C on April 21, 2016, led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). Why was Anomali raising the money?

Anomali said it would use the financing to support international expansion, product development, and additional sales and marketing. The plan was to grow the business and develop products for security operations and incident response teams.

In a June 2016 update, the company said it had opened a Boston office and exceeded its first-half goals, reporting 170 percent year-over-year growth. That figure was Anomali’s report about its own growth; the update does not define the metric in further detail. Anomali’s June update

What did Anomali sell, and was it formerly ThreatStream?

Yes. The company rebranded from ThreatStream to Anomali in February 2016. Anomali’s rebrand and product announcement

The April financing announcement identified the ThreatStream and Anomali Match platforms. Anomali described its products as tools for security operations and incident-response personnel, intended to help make large volumes of threat-intelligence data useful for identifying and tracking attackers and improving an organization’s security posture. Its June update also described Anomali Reports. These announcements establish the company’s product positioning, not a comparative assessment against other vendors. Anomali’s June update

What is Anomali Match?

Anomali Match was one of the platforms named by the company in its 2016 announcements. Those materials place it within Anomali’s threat-intelligence product suite, but do not provide enough detail to compare its specific capabilities, integrations, or deployment options with other products.
