Annapurna Interactive’s new game is Uncanyon, a puzzle-first adventure from developer Graceful Decay planned for 2027. Its central idea—shifting a world between alternate realities to solve environmental puzzles—makes it a persuasive candidate for the playful label “the most Annapurna game of all time.” That is an interpretation of the announcement, not an objective ranking of the publisher’s catalog.
What is Annapurna’s new game?
Uncanyon is an upcoming puzzle-first adventure published by Annapurna Interactive and developed by Graceful Decay. The publisher describes a forgotten, fantastical world where hills breathe, trees change color, and the terrain itself shifts. Players follow Sonia as she explores it.

Graceful Decay studio head and game director Hanford Lemoore described the project as “a puzzle-forward adventure for the curious, full of exploration, secrets… and heart,” in a statement reproduced by Gematsu on September 3, 2026.

How does Uncanyon’s alternate-reality mechanic work?
According to the announcement, Sonia uses fragmentstone devices to shift the environment between alternate realities without leaving the world she is in. The changes are intended to affect both navigation and puzzles: shifting realities can move stone and shadow, banish dangers, or expose hidden routes.

The idea is more than a setting detail: it gives players a way to change the conditions of a puzzle by changing the world around it. Lemoore said the concept began with the question, “What if you could enter an alternate reality without leaving the one you’re already in?” The announcement does not specify exactly how often players can shift realities, whether every area has the same rules, or how the mechanic develops over the full game.
What kind of game is Uncanyon?
The announced focus is exploration and environmental problem-solving, rather than a combat-led adventure. The publisher describes five semi-open regions containing puzzle-filled ruins, traps, riddles, records, ancient equipment, and optional mysteries. Those are features promised in the announcement; the game has not been independently assessed here through hands-on play.

Why does it feel like an Annapurna game?
The “most Annapurna game” claim works as a description of the pitch, not a measurable fact. Annapurna Interactive says it works with creators around the world to help them create and release personal experiences. Uncanyon appears to fit that stated identity: its announcement foregrounds a distinctive world, a curiosity-driven adventure, and one unusual idea that informs how players interact with the environment.
That is enough to make the superlative a reasonable editorial take, but not to prove that Uncanyon is more representative than every other game Annapurna has published. The announcement also leaves key questions unanswered, including how the puzzles feel in play and how much the story drives the experience.

When and where can you play Uncanyon?
Uncanyon is planned for 2027. The September 3, 2026 announcement names PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It gives no exact release date or price. The announced window and platforms may change.
