NG05000 means Angular hydration is running with a custom or noop Zone.js implementation that Angular does not fully support. Hydration relies on Zone.js to signal when the app is stable; if a custom zone reports stability at the wrong time, Angular may serialize server-rendered content or perform browser cleanup too early or too late. Start by checking the app’s Zone.js and hydration configuration.

What NG05000 means

Angular hydration restores a server-rendered application in the browser while reusing the existing DOM and application state. Angular depends on Zone.js stability signals to coordinate parts of this lifecycle: server-side serialization and browser-side cleanup of DOM nodes that hydration did not claim.

A custom or noop Zone.js implementation can change when Angular is told that the application is stable. Angular’s NG05000 documentation describes this as “not yet a fully supported configuration.” The warning identifies an unsupported Zone.js setup; on its own, it does not establish that the DOM has a mismatch.

How to investigate and address it

  1. Inspect the Zone.js setup. Review the application’s bootstrap and dependency configuration to determine whether it intentionally uses a custom or noop Zone.js implementation.
  2. Check how hydration is enabled. Confirm that the application’s hydration configuration is the one intended for the project. Angular’s hydration guide describes the hydration lifecycle and configuration.
  3. Prefer a supported Zone.js arrangement when possible. If the custom or noop implementation is not required, use a supported setup rather than changing event timing to suppress the warning.
  4. If a custom zone is required, verify its stability behavior. Check that its onStable event is emitted at a time consistent with the application’s actual work, and verify that server rendering and browser hydration cleanup behave correctly. Angular does not specify one universal event timing value or a single code change that fixes every custom implementation.
  5. Check release-specific guidance before upgrading. The NG05000 and hydration pages do not identify an affected Angular or Zone.js version range or a universal version-based fix. Confirm the versions installed in the project and consult the corresponding release documentation before changing dependencies.

NG05000 versus NG0506

These warnings describe different issues. NG05000 points to hydration being used with an unsupported custom or noop Zone.js implementation. NG0506 is a browser-side warning that ApplicationRef.isStable has not emitted true within 10 seconds during hydration. Pending microtasks or macrotasks can contribute to that delay.

Warning What it identifies Useful diagnostic focus
NG05000 Hydration with an unsupported Zone.js implementation, such as a custom or noop zone. Whether the implementation reports onStable at an appropriate time.
NG0506 Browser-side instability: ApplicationRef.isStable does not emit true within the documented 10-second threshold. Whether pending asynchronous work, including microtasks or macrotasks, is keeping the application unstable.

If both appear, investigate the zone’s stability behavior and any asynchronous work separately; one warning does not prove the cause of the other. Angular’s NgZone API reference documents the zone API.
