The Anbernic RG DS Plus is a clamshell handheld with two 4.3-inch IPS screens, a touch-and-stylus lower display, and broad retro emulation claims. On the maker’s own store, it was listed at a $93.52 sale price and a $94.99 regular price when checked on October 7, 2026, which is where the “$95” figure comes from. For retro-focused buyers who accept manufacturer specifications at face value, it is a reasonable budget dual-screen pick. The main gaps are independent performance and battery data, which the available reporting does not yet establish.

What is in the box
ANBERNIC’s official package list names a capacitive stylus, two screen protectors, a USB charging cable, a user manual, and a lanyard. The store images describe the stylus as built in. Those two descriptions do not clearly match, so check the stylus description on the listing you are buying before assuming how it is supplied.
Screens, controls and build
Retro Game Corps published an in-depth review dated September 15, 2026. It describes the RG DS Plus as an improvement over the original RG DS in its screens, controls, and audio. It also says the Plus still falls short of an original DS in some respects. The reviewer disclosed that ANBERNIC supplied the review unit, that the opinions were the reviewer’s own, that ANBERNIC did not preview the review, and that no money changed hands.

The listing gives a 4000mAh battery and a six-hour battery-life rating. That rating comes from ANBERNIC. No independent battery test was found in the reporting reviewed, so six hours should be read as the maker’s estimate, and your results will depend on the games, screen brightness, and Wi-Fi use.

Who should buy the RG DS Plus
- Retro gamers who want a dual-screen layout and are comfortable with a maker-stated emulator and format list.
- Buyers who want a stylus-driven lower screen for note-taking, menus, or touch-based games, provided the stylus arrives as described.
- People who will check their region’s shipping and import terms before paying, and who accept that the battery figure is the maker’s own.
It is a weaker choice if you need verified performance numbers, a specific game to run correctly, or a battery result you can rely on before purchase.
Before you order
- Open the ANBERNIC official product page and confirm the current sale and regular prices.
- Choose the color and storage option, and check whether a memory card is included.
- Select your country and read the shipping and return details for that region.
- Confirm the stylus description (built in or included loose) against the listing.
- List the specific games you plan to play and check them against the stated formats, using community or independent compatibility reports rather than the store page alone.
If the device is useful after those checks, the $95 price is a reasonable entry point for a dual-screen handheld. The reporting reviewed does not yet give independent performance or battery data, so the decision rests on the maker’s specifications and one reviewer’s experience.
