Ampace announced the Andes 300 on August 22, 2024 as a compact portable power station for camping, road trips, RV use and limited home backup. Ampace lists a 266 Wh battery, 300 W continuous AC output, 450 W surge capacity and an 8.2 lb weight. The figures, charging times and durability claims below are manufacturer specifications rather than independent test results.
What is the Ampace Andes 300?
The Andes 300 is a small battery power station intended to supply electricity away from a wall outlet. Ampace’s launch announcement said it would be sold through the Ampace online store and Amazon. That was a launch-time distribution plan on August 22, 2024; it does not establish that an Amazon listing, stock or the same price is available now.
Ampace Chief Marketing Officer Alfonso Chen called the product “a leap forward in portable power technology.” That is Ampace’s promotional characterization, not an independent assessment.
How much power does the Andes 300 have?
Ampace specifies 266 watt-hours (Wh) of battery capacity and 300 watts (W) of total continuous AC output. The launch release also describes 450 W of surge capacity for short startup demands. Capacity describes stored energy; output describes the maximum load the inverter is designed to supply. Neither figure guarantees a particular runtime because actual consumption, inverter losses and the device being powered determine how long the battery lasts.

| Specification | Ampace-published figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 266 Wh | Energy storage rating; usable energy will vary with conversion losses and operating conditions. |
| Continuous AC output | 300 W total | Keep the combined AC load within this rating. |
| Surge output | 450 W | Launch-release claim for brief startup demand; duration and test conditions are not stated. |
| Weight | 8.2 lb | Manufacturer-listed mass for a portable unit. |
For planning, check the wattage printed on each appliance and add simultaneous loads. A 300 W-class station is aimed at electronics, lighting and other modest loads, not high-draw heating appliances, kettles, hair dryers, air conditioners or large refrigerators unless their startup and running requirements fall within the station’s limits.
Which ports are included?
Ampace’s product page lists the following connections:
| Port | Quantity | Published rating |
|---|---|---|
| AC outlets | 2 | 300 W total station output |
| USB-C Power Delivery | 1 | Up to 100 W |
| USB-A | 2 | 12 W each |
| 12 V car socket | 1 | 120 W |
The 100 W USB-C port can suit many laptops, tablets and phones that accept USB-C charging without using the AC inverter. The USB-A and car-socket ratings are manufacturer specifications; connected devices may draw less.

How long does it take to charge?
Ampace advertises about one hour to reach full charge from a wall outlet and 2.6 hours using solar charging. The retrieved product information does not fully specify the input power, starting state, sunlight conditions, temperature or other test conditions behind those times, so treat them as company estimates rather than guaranteed field results.

- 【What You Get & Customer Support】 The package includes the Antpo 500W Power Station, AC charging cable, car charging cable, and user manual. Backed by a 24-month warranty and lifetime friendly U.S.-based customer service.
The product page also describes additional charging options. Before pairing a particular panel, verify the Andes 300’s permitted solar-input voltage, current and connector requirements in the manual or with Ampace support. Ampace’s product catalogue lists a 100 W solar panel, but the available material does not establish definitive compatibility or the station’s solar-input limits.
Is the Andes 300 suitable for camping and road trips?
Its weight, 266 Wh capacity and mixed AC/USB/car outputs fit short outdoor outings where the expected loads are phones, cameras, lights, small laptops or other low-power gear. The car socket can support compatible 12 V equipment within its 120 W rating, while the AC outlets cover devices that stay below the 300 W continuous limit.
- Good match: charging personal electronics, running LED lighting and powering small accessories for a limited period.
- Check first: any appliance with a motor, compressor or heating element, because startup surges and continuous wattage can exceed the station’s ratings.
- Plan conservatively: divide the device’s watt draw into the 266 Wh capacity only as a rough upper-bound estimate; real runtime is shorter after conversion losses and battery-management limits.
Ampace also markets the unit for RV adventures and home backup. At this size, “backup” should be understood as temporary power for selected small devices, not whole-home or large-appliance backup.
What emergency and durability claims does Ampace make?
The Andes 300 product page says its emergency power supply (EPS) mode switches in 20 milliseconds. That is a manufacturer claim, and no independent transfer-time test was identified here; do not assume it is suitable as an uninterrupted-power source for every computer, medical device or other sensitive load.

- Gasless battery-powered inverter generator creates up to 600 surge watts and 300 rated watts of electricity without the dangerous emissions, routine maintenance, or noise of a traditional gas power generator
- Backlit information display provides real time data on battery charge level, power station temperature, wattage input and output, individual outlet status, and more
- 269Wh battery runs a 10W lightbulb for up to 24 hours, a 45W car fridge up to 6 hours, or recharges the average smartphone up to 14 times
- Features 9 outlet ports: two 120V NEMA 5-15R receptacles, a quick-charge 12V USB-A port, two standard 5V USB-A ports, one 20V USB-C port, one automotive-style 12V DC socket, and two 12V DC barrel sockets
- Includes a standard wall charger, a rubber-gripped carrying handle, an LED light to illuminate your work area, a two-year warranty, and compatibility with aftermarket quick chargers and solar panels
Ampace also states up to 2,500 charge cycles and describes up to 10 years of service based on an average of 2.5 charges per week. “Up to” is a ceiling under the company’s stated assumptions, not a guaranteed lifespan. Battery aging depends on depth of discharge, temperature, storage and charging practice.
What did the Andes 300 cost at launch?
Ampace’s August 22, 2024 release gave a stated retail price of $249.99 and an early-bird price of $199.99 from August 22 through September 19, 2024. Those are historical launch terms, not a current offer. Check Ampace directly for present pricing and availability.

What should you verify before buying?
- Write down the wattage and startup demand of every device you expect to run simultaneously.
- Confirm that the combined load stays within 300 W continuous output and that any brief surge is compatible with the 450 W claim.
- Check the manual for solar-input limits and connector details before purchasing a panel.
- Confirm current price, warranty terms, stock and return conditions with the seller; the launch release does not provide current market status.
- If you need medical-device support, computer-grade uninterrupted power or long refrigerator runtime, obtain equipment-specific confirmation rather than relying on the 20 ms EPS statement.
Bottom line
The Ampace Andes 300 is a lightweight, 300 W-class power station with useful USB, AC and 12 V outputs for modest camping and travel loads. Its one-hour wall-charge, 2.6-hour solar-charge, EPS and cycle-life figures remain Ampace claims without independent verification in the available material. Treat the 266 Wh capacity as limited portable energy, verify solar compatibility and current pricing, and match every intended appliance to the station’s wattage limits.
