American Truck Simulator has expanded beyond freight hauling with Road Trip, a feature introduced alongside the Road Trip: Ford add-on. It brings drivable cars, smaller delivery jobs, vehicle customization, and an Atlas feature to the game. The DLC’s current Steam review rating is not verified by the available Steam listing, so the claim that it has “Very Positive” reviews should not be treated as established.
What Road Trip adds to American Truck Simulator
SCS Software describes Road Trip as a new way to experience American Truck Simulator, extending play beyond driving trucks. The developer says players can drive vehicles other than trucks and take on smaller delivery jobs. Its announcement calls it “a whole new experience for players of American Truck Simulator.” SCS Software’s announcement
Cars, smaller jobs, and customization
Road Trip brings car driving and smaller deliveries into the trucking game. SCS also names car customization among the feature set. The announcement presents these as additional ways to play, rather than a replacement for the game’s truck-focused freight hauling.

The announcement also describes an Atlas feature. SCS says it can be used while driving an 18-wheeler, provided the player owns a Road Trip DLC. That makes Atlas relevant beyond the car-driving part of the feature.

Which Ford vehicles are included?

- 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback
- 2023 Ford F-150
- 2023 Ford Bronco
- 1998–2012 Ford Crown Victoria
SCS identifies Ford as a collaborator in bringing the vehicles into the game. This supports describing them as official Ford content in the game; it does not establish any broader commercial endorsement outside it. Read the developer announcement

Does the Road Trip: Ford DLC have Very Positive Steam reviews?
That rating is not confirmed by the Steam result available here. The surfaced listing reports the base game’s rating, not the review label or count for Road Trip: Ford. When retrieved on October 4, 2026, the base-game result showed 97% positive from 94,795 English reviews; those are volatile figures for the base game and cannot be used as the DLC’s rating. For a current DLC-specific rating, check the review summary on the add-on’s own Steam page. Without that page’s rating and review count, “Very Positive” remains unverified.

What the launch player peak does—and does not—show
GamesRadar reported that American Truck Simulator reached an all-time concurrent-player peak of 21,318 around the Road Trip launch, citing SteamDB. SCS said the record was broken and reported that more than 20,000 players were in-game, either driving trucks or using the Road Trip: Ford DLC. The reported peak is a concurrent-player count, not proof that the DLC alone caused the increase. GamesRadar’s report

SCS marked American Truck Simulator’s tenth anniversary in February 2026, looking back on the game’s decade since its 2016 release. Road Trip therefore represents an expansion of the game’s play beyond truck driving after that ten-year milestone. SCS Software’s tenth-anniversary post
