AMD’s March 2023 Ryzen bundle deals were historical offers, not current promotions. HotHardware reported a $75–$125 discount on new AM5 system builds, plus game bundles tied to select Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 5000 processors. Its author had not verified that the system discount appeared at retailer checkout, so the report does not confirm that any particular retailer applied it.
What the March 2023 Ryzen promotion included
HotHardware’s March 1, 2023 report described three parts to the offers: a proposed discount on new AM5 builds, a game with eligible Ryzen 7000 processors, and a different game with Ryzen 5000 processors. These were claims about the March 2023 promotion only; the report does not establish current availability or eligibility.
- New AM5 builds: AMD was reported to be offering $75–$125 off new system builds using AM5 processors. The discount was intended to apply at checkout through participating retailers. HotHardware’s Zak Killian said he had not verified it at the retailers he checked, despite the reported February 27 start date.
- Ryzen 7000: The report associated processors without 3D V-Cache with a copy of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
- Ryzen 5000: The report associated Ryzen 5000 processors with a copy of Company of Heroes 3. It also said the AM5 system discount was not believed to apply to these AM4 CPUs.

HotHardware listed the following CPU prices on March 1, 2023. Prices could fluctuate during that month, and the figures should be read as a historical snapshot rather than current prices.

How the AM5 and AM4 offers differed
The deal report described two platform paths. Ryzen 7000 processors in the article are tied to AM5 system builds; Ryzen 5000 processors are presented as AM4 options. HotHardware noted that AM4 motherboards and DDR4 memory could cost less, which may matter when comparing the total cost of a build rather than the CPU price alone.

The report singled out the Ryzen 7 5800X3D as a gaming-oriented AM4 option, but it did not provide controlled benchmark results comparing it with Ryzen 7000 processors. Nor does the article establish compatibility for a particular motherboard: buyers considering an existing AM4 board would need to check support for their exact CPU and board.

Was the March 2023 bundle deal worth it?
For someone planning a new AM5 build in March 2023, the reported system discount could have reduced the build cost if a participating retailer applied it at checkout. The article did not confirm retailer application, however, so that savings should not be treated as guaranteed. The CPU price examples and game bundles could also have influenced a purchase, but the report alone cannot establish which processor was the best value: that depends on the full system cost and the buyer’s needs.

For an AM4 upgrade, the reported Ryzen 5000 prices and Company of Heroes 3 bundle were relevant historical details, but the AM5 build discount was not believed to apply. The report gives no basis for assuming the game offer, CPU prices, or either promotion remains available today.
