When AMD asked what people were most excited about in RDNA 4, the responses PC Gamer reviewed focused less on headline features than on practical concerns: being able to buy the cards, paying a fair price, getting stronger performance, and seeing better upscaling through FSR 4. Those replies were informal and qualitative—not a representative poll or a promise about what AMD would deliver.
What did AMD ask about RDNA 4?
On February 6, 2025, AMD consumer and gaming representative Frank Azor asked on X: “What features are you most excited about in RDNA4?” PC Gamer reported on the question and replies the following day. The prompt invited opinions; it did not announce specifications or confirm features for the upcoming Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT.
PC Gamer’s February 7, 2025 report described themes it saw in the first couple of hundred responses it reviewed. That was an informal reading of replies, not a statistical survey of PC gamers.
What did respondents say they wanted most?
Availability
Whether the cards would actually be on shelves was a recurring concern. One reply quoted by PC Gamer put it plainly: “availability would be a brilliant start.” That captures a consumer priority, not evidence about the cards’ eventual stock or retail availability.
#1 Best Overall
- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
Price and performance
Replies also emphasized value: how much gaming performance a buyer would get for the money. PC Gamer quoted one commenter saying, “All I want is much better ‘real’ frames per $.” The phrase reflects a desire for useful, delivered performance at a sensible price; the report provides no price or benchmark data with which to assess that value.
Upscaling, especially FSR 4
FSR 4, AMD’s upscaling technology, was another prominent topic in the replies PC Gamer reviewed. One commenter wrote, “FSR 4 is a big one.” The report records enthusiasm for the feature, but it does not establish particular image-quality results, supported games, or performance gains.

- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
What other features came up?
PC Gamer also noted replies mentioning ray-tracing performance, VRAM capacity, performance per watt, AI performance, driver quality, and video encode and decode. Ray tracing appeared less prominently than the leading themes of availability, price, general performance, and upscaling. These are topics readers raised, not verified shortcomings or specifications of RDNA 4 cards.
What can this tell you about buying an RDNA 4 card?
The replies offer a useful checklist of questions to ask when comparing graphics cards, but they cannot answer those questions by themselves. A buying decision needs current, comparable information on retail price and stock, raster and ray-tracing performance, upscaling and frame-generation support, VRAM, power use, driver support, and video features. PC Gamer’s report does not provide current prices, availability, benchmarks, or comparable specifications for the Radeon RX 9070 or RX 9070 XT.

- AMD RDNA 3 Architecture with AI & Ray Tracing Acceleration: Powered by 32 RDNA 3 Compute Units featuring 3rd Gen Ray Tracing Accelerators and 2nd Gen AI Accelerators, delivering lifelike lighting, shadows, and superior machine learning performance for enhanced gaming and content creation.
- Powerful 1080p & 1440p Gaming Engine: Features a max boost clock of up to 2695 MHz, a game clock of 2280 MHz, and 2048 stream processors, ensuring outstanding frame rates in the latest titles.
- 8GB High‑Speed GDDR6 Memory: Equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128‑bit interface running at 18 Gbps, delivering up to 288 GB/s bandwidth for high‑resolution textures and demanding game workloads.
In particular, the comments should not be read as proof that all PC gamers share these priorities, as a ranking backed by measured percentages, or as confirmation that AMD would include a requested feature. They document what stood out in the replies PC Gamer observed in February 2025.
