The Amazon Ember Artline 2026 is best understood as a gallery-style display first and a conventional television second. Its matte screen, included art collection, customizable frame and Fire TV interface suit rooms where the TV is meant to blend into the decor. But independent testing found weak dark-scene contrast, soft handling of lower-quality video, blurry motion and gaming limitations. If picture quality in dim rooms, wide seating or high-frame-rate gaming matters most, this is a compromised choice.
What are the Amazon Ember Artline models?
Amazon’s 2026 Ember Artline range includes two U.S. models: the 55-inch QL55M800A and 65-inch QL65M800A. RTINGS tested the 65-inch U.S. model and says its results also apply to the 55-inch version; it did not report separate testing of both sizes. Canadian versions use different suffixes: QL65M800C and QL55M800C.
Both sizes are 4K QLED televisions with a 60 Hz refresh rate, LED backlighting, a matte anti-glare screen and Fire TV. The display supports Dolby Vision as well as HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG. Those are manufacturer-listed formats and specifications, not a guarantee that HDR images will look equally strong in every room.

How good is the picture for everyday viewing?
The matte finish is useful in bright rooms: RTINGS found reflection handling and bright-room usability to be strengths. That advantage comes with image-quality tradeoffs. RTINGS describes the set as a basic edge-lit LED TV without local dimming. Dark scenes can look washed out, and the matte coating can add a slight haze. The reviewer also found mediocre screen uniformity and narrow viewing angles, which can make the image less consistent for people seated off-center.
Streaming and upscaling
RTINGS reports weak processing and soft upscaling of low-quality content. If much of your viewing comes from low-resolution streams or heavily compressed video, the Artline may not make that material look as clean as a stronger-processing television. Its gallery-oriented design does not remove those limitations when you switch to shows or movies.

Art mode and dark rooms
RTINGS measured a minimum art-mode brightness of 125 nits in its 2026 review and considers that high for a dark room. That is a reviewer measurement, not an Amazon-published specification. It is worth considering if the screen will display art in a bedroom or other space where you want a low-light presentation.

Amazon’s central pitch is a TV that can present artwork when it is not being used for video. Amazon says the included collection has more than 2,000 curated pieces at no extra cost, with no subscription required to access those pieces. The company also lists 10 frame colors and 60 commissioned motion-video pieces.

Amazon Photos integration lets owners display personal photos. Its Match the Room feature uses uploaded room photos to suggest artwork from the collection. These are manufacturer-described features; they do not establish how well the TV reproduces artwork under every lighting condition. The matte surface helps reduce reflections, but RTINGS’ art-mode brightness measurement may be a drawback for a dark room.
Is the Amazon Ember Artline good for gaming?
It is not a strong fit for demanding gaming. The official specification is 60 Hz, so the panel cannot display the high frame rates supported by faster gaming TVs. RTINGS reports that VRR does not work properly and is available on only one input, along with higher-than-average input lag and pronounced blur during fast action.

Casual play may still be acceptable if gaming is secondary, but buyers choosing a TV specifically for responsive play or high-frame-rate consoles should look for a model with a higher refresh rate and well-functioning variable refresh rate support.

What is included, and what do installation choices cost you?
Amazon says the Artline includes a wall-mount kit, but the bundled mount is non-VESA. The TV supports VESA-compatible mounts purchased separately. A size-matched set of TV legs is also sold separately, so the box should not be assumed to include a stand for furniture placement. Amazon’s setup guide says the frame ships separately and consists of four magnetic clip-on pieces to attach after mounting the TV or setting it on legs.

Wall mounting requires two people, according to Amazon’s setup guide. The guide also identifies connections for HDMI 2.1 eARC, three HDMI 2.0 ports, USB 3.0, Ethernet, optical audio, antenna/cable and an IR emitter. Check the exact installation option you need before ordering; the mount, VESA compatibility and separate legs are not interchangeable assumptions.

RTINGS names Samsung The Frame 2026, Hisense CanvasTV 2026 and LG Gallery 2026 as comparison candidates, and reports better processing from the Hisense CanvasTV. A useful comparison depends on the specific model and size available where you live, rather than the gallery-TV label alone.
- Room lighting: Compare reflection handling for a bright room against dark-scene contrast for evening viewing.
- Seating: Check viewing angles if people will watch from the sides rather than directly in front.
- Art: Compare included artwork, frame customization and any recurring charges.
- Video and gaming: Look at processing, motion handling, refresh rate, VRR and input lag.
- Installation and price: Compare what is included for wall mounting or furniture placement, plus the current price for the same screen size.
RTINGS’ comparison notes are available in its Amazon Ember Artline 2026 review. They do not establish current prices or the full feature set of every alternative.
What did the Artline cost at launch?
Amazon’s April 15, 2026 announcement gave a U.S. starting price of $899.99 and said shipments would begin April 22 in the United States and Canada, and May 7 in the United Kingdom and Germany. These are announcement-era details, not a statement of today’s price, stock or eligibility in any particular market. Amazon’s launch announcement is the source for those dates and for the company’s art-feature claims.
