Goldman Sachs reportedly added Amazon.com and Huntington Ingalls Industries to its October 2026 Conviction List. A separate summary names Burlington Stores, Occidental Petroleum and Johnson Controls International as additions, too. The available accounts disclose no company-specific rationale, price targets or rating changes, so inclusion alone is not a complete investment thesis.
Which companies were added?
An October 1, 2026 summary reports five additions to Goldman Sachs’s monthly Director’s Cut/Conviction List:
- Amazon.com, Inc.
- Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc.
- Burlington Stores, Inc.
- Occidental Petroleum Corporation
- Johnson Controls International plc
A separate brief report and an indexed excerpt attributed to Investors Business Daily specifically identify Amazon and Huntington Ingalls as additions. AllMind News SwingTradeBot FinancialContent

Create routines to automatically turn on lights when you walk into a room, or start a fan if the inside temperature goes above your comfort zone.

- Say goodbye to drop-offs and buffering - With eero Built-in, Echo Dot doubles as a mesh wifi extender, adding up to 1,000 sq. ft. of wifi coverage to your existing eero network.
One brief report characterizes Amazon and Huntington Ingalls as having had “lackluster years so far,” but gives no measurement window, benchmark or return figures. That description is secondary coverage, not enough to establish how either stock performed against a defined market measure. SwingTradeBot FinancialContent
Does inclusion mean you should buy either stock?
No. The reported addition is a list decision, not a standalone buy recommendation for every reader. The available summary provides no Goldman price targets, rating changes, earnings-estimate revisions or company-specific explanation for the selections. It therefore does not establish what investment case Goldman made for Amazon or Huntington Ingalls. AllMind News

Nor does the reporting establish that list inclusion caused a particular share-price move or predict future performance. Readers considering either company would need to evaluate its business, valuation, outlook and risks using current company disclosures and market data; the list-addition accounts alone do not provide those comparisons.
Why are Amazon and Huntington Ingalls in the same headline?
The reports establish that both were named as additions, not that their businesses or investment cases are comparable. Amazon is a technology and commerce company, while Huntington Ingalls is a shipbuilder; the phrase “top warship builder” does not explain Goldman’s selection rationale. The available accounts do not provide enough company-specific analysis to compare their valuations or operating outlooks.
