Amazon’s reported $89.99 AirPods Pro deal is for closeout first-generation earbuds—not AirPods Pro 3. AppleInsider reported on October 4, 2026, that Amazon also had AirPods Pro 3 for $179 ahead of Prime Big Deal Days, scheduled for October 6–7. These are dated price reports, not confirmation of what is available at checkout today.
Which AirPods Pro are reported at each price?
| Model | Reported Amazon price | What the report establishes |
|---|---|---|
| First-generation AirPods Pro | $89.99 | AppleInsider reported this October 4, 2026, as a closeout price. The report does not establish the current listing’s seller, condition, included accessories, or availability. |
| AirPods Pro 3 | $179 | AppleInsider and MacRumors reported this price on October 4, 2026. MacRumors said it was down from $249 and matched its tracked low. |
| AirPods Pro 3 U.S. listed price | $249 | Apple’s U.S. product information page listed this price when accessed October 5, 2026; it is not an Amazon deal quote. |
Deal prices and stock can change quickly. Macworld’s October 2 roundup had reported a different AirPods Pro 3 price snapshot of $234, illustrating why a previously published deal figure may no longer match the live offer.
Is the $89.99 first-generation deal worth considering?
It may suit someone seeking a lower-cost pair who has confirmed the exact model and is comfortable buying an older generation. The discount alone is not enough to judge value: an old list price can make a closeout look compelling even when the newer model is a better fit for your needs.

- Condition and seller: Check whether the item is new, refurbished, or otherwise described, and verify who sells and ships it. The reported price does not establish these details.
- Case and accessories: Check which charging case is included and what comes in the box. Do not assume that an older listing includes the same accessories as a current model.
- Alternatives: Compare current prices at other retailers as well as Amazon; the lowest offer can change between deal snapshots.
What AirPods Pro 3 add—and what to check first
Apple lists AirPods Pro 3 at $249 in the U.S. Its product information describes heart-rate sensing during workouts, up to eight hours of listening with Active Noise Cancellation, hearing-health features, Live Translation, and a redesigned fit. These capabilities may make the newer model more useful, but the features are not equally available to every buyer.
Check device and regional compatibility
- Live Translation: Apple says it requires a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Supported languages and regions are limited.
- Hearing Test and Hearing Aid: Availability is subject to authorization and varies by region.
- Fit and use: Consider whether the redesigned fit and workout heart-rate sensing matter to you; do not pay more solely for features your devices or region cannot use.
Check what is in the box
Apple says the AirPods Pro 3 box includes the earbuds, a MagSafe Charging Case with USB-C, silicone tips in five sizes, and documentation. Apple also states: “AirPods Pro 3 do not include a USB‑C Charge Cable or power adapter.” Compatible USB-C cables or power adapters can be used, so check whether you already own one before adding an accessory to your purchase.
