To integrate Amadeus into a B2B travel portal, first obtain Enterprise API access and account-specific documentation from Amadeus, then design your booking, ticketing, payment, and servicing workflows around the products and commercial terms approved for your business. Do not build a production flight flow from older Self-Service endpoint examples: Amadeus says that portal has been decommissioned, and its current public Enterprise catalog does not publish an equivalent end-to-end flight specification.
Start with Enterprise access, not the legacy Self-Service setup
Amadeus currently directs developers to its Enterprise API portal and an access-request process. Its public catalog advertises a sandbox and more than 100 APIs across Air, Booking Management, Hotel, Cars & Transfers, Customer Profile, Insurance, and Payments by Outpayce. The catalog identifies product areas, not the specific services, eligibility, or commercial terms available to a particular portal.
Use the access request or Travel Sellers contact path to explain the business you are building. Include the launch geography, whether customers are travel agencies or other businesses, the segments you need, expected booking volume, servicing expectations, and whether your company needs to issue tickets. Ask Amadeus to provide the applicable API specifications, environment and credential details, production-access requirements, and commercial proposal.
Amadeus’s public FAQ discusses request-based Enterprise access and says requirements and pricing depend on market and functionality. It does not establish eligibility, implementation fees, recurring fees, or negotiated terms for your specific portal. Confirm each point directly for your business and intended markets.

Separate current Enterprise information from legacy Self-Service examples
| Topic | What the public material establishes | How to use it in a portal plan |
|---|---|---|
| Current access and product areas | Amadeus’s Developer Portal identifies itself as Enterprise, says Self-Service has been decommissioned, and advertises a sandbox and API categories. | Use the Enterprise access route and confirm which APIs and terms Amadeus offers your account. |
| Public flight booking sequence | The Amadeus API FAQ documents Flight Offers Search, Flight Offers Price, Flight Create Orders, and Flight Orders Management for legacy Self-Service guidance. | Treat the sequence as a conceptual example of search, revalidation, booking, and management—not as a confirmed Enterprise endpoint specification. |
| Public hotel booking sequence | Amadeus’s Enterprise Hotel Search and Hotel Booking descriptions cover searching, selecting an offer, confirming final price and availability, then submitting a reservation. | Use this as a high-level design outline; obtain the actual payload, lifecycle, and error-handling rules for your account. |
| Credential and environment details | The legacy Self-Service quick start describes OAuth 2.0 client credentials and a test-to-production process. Enterprise-specific hosts, tokens, scopes, and quotas are not established by that example. | Implement authentication from the credentials and specifications Amadeus issues for your Enterprise account. |
Design the booking lifecycle around the selected product
Flights: use the old sequence to understand the stages, not to choose Enterprise endpoints
For legacy Self-Service, the FAQ describes four stages: Flight Offers Search finds bookable offers; Flight Offers Price checks the latest price and availability of a selected offer; Flight Create Orders creates a booking; and Flight Orders Management consults or manages bookings. Amadeus’s Postman collection similarly demonstrates fetching an offer, pricing it, and creating an order.
The planning lesson is that a search result should not be treated as a durable quote or completed booking. Build the user experience to revalidate a selected offer before commitment, but map that stage to the Enterprise API and rules Amadeus supplies. The public Enterprise catalog confirms an Air offering; it does not provide a public, equivalent end-to-end flight workflow in the material described here.
Rank #2
Hotels: preserve the offer through confirmation and reservation
Amadeus’s public Enterprise hotel descriptions outline a sequence of search, offer selection, final price and availability confirmation, and reservation. The booking description says the reservation uses an offer ID, guest information, and payment information; it also lists services for retrieving and managing hotel bookings.

Keep credentials and booking calls behind a controlled integration layer
Use a server-side integration service between the portal interface and Amadeus. Do not expose API secrets in browser code. The service can authenticate to the approved environment, enforce tenant-level authorization, and keep supplier credentials and request handling out of the customer-facing client.
The legacy Self-Service quick start gives an example of OAuth 2.0 client credentials: a form-encoded POST to /v1/security/oauth2/token with a client ID and secret, followed by API calls using an Authorization: Bearer <token> header. That is an example from the former Self-Service setup, not confirmation of Enterprise token URLs, lifetimes, scopes, hostnames, environments, or quotas. Use the Enterprise authentication guide issued to your account.
Rank #4
Plan the integration service to handle credential rotation, request tracing, audit logs, rate limits, retries, and redaction of personal and payment data. Confirm retry rules with Amadeus before retrying booking operations: without documented idempotency behavior, an automatic retry after a timeout could risk creating an unintended duplicate action.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Decide who issues tickets, collects money, and handles changes
Do not assume that API access alone determines who can issue a ticket or who supports a booking after sale. The applicable model depends on your contract, market, agency role, content, and supplier arrangements.
Best Value
- Ticket issuance: Amadeus’s FAQ describes a consolidator requirement for ticket issuance in its legacy Self-Service context, and says direct issuance in that framework requires IATA or ARC authorization. Confirm current Enterprise requirements for your geography and legal structure rather than carrying those conditions forward as universal rules.
- Customer payment and supplier settlement: The same FAQ distinguishes collecting money from a customer from settling with a consolidator. It describes customer collection as the app owner’s decision and consolidator settlement as a separate arrangement. Confirm the merchant-of-record structure, payment flow, and settlement responsibilities in your own commercial agreement.
- Markup and pricing rights: The FAQ says flight markups could be applied through the seller’s payment gateway in the Self-Service context. It also describes its Self-Service hotel product as post-paid and says that product did not allow room markups. These are product-specific legacy statements, not blanket Enterprise rules. Confirm markup rights, taxes, refunds, and pricing display requirements for each selected product.
- Changes, cancellations, and refunds: The FAQ says a consolidator handles changes or refunds after ticket issuance in the legacy arrangement and distinguishes cancellations before issuance. For your portal, document which party—the portal, Amadeus, supplier, or consolidator—owns each action and the customer-support escalation path. Verify the relevant Enterprise services and service-level arrangements before promising a customer a particular servicing outcome.
Design payment and personal-data handling before launch
Amadeus’s hotel tutorial says a booking call includes guest and payment information and warns that systems storing, transmitting, or processing cardholder data need PCI DSS compliance. Decide whether your portal handles card data directly or delegates payment entry and processing through a suitably designed payment provider. Confirm current PCI DSS obligations with that provider and assess applicable privacy requirements for each operating jurisdiction.
Use a concrete decision checklist before committing to an architecture
Compare any arrangements Amadeus offers against the needs of your portal; the following are evaluation criteria, not options guaranteed to be available to every business.
Quick Recap
- API scope: Identify the segments and post-booking functions required, such as air, hotel, booking management, and payments.
- Market and eligibility: Confirm launch geography, agency credentials, production approval, and contractual conditions.
- Ticketing model: Establish whether direct issuance or consolidator-supported issuance is applicable and available.
- Commercial terms: Request implementation, recurring, and transaction costs, plus any pricing or markup rights and negotiated incentives. Public materials do not give account-specific amounts.
- Operational ownership: Assign responsibility for refunds, changes, cancellations, customer support, and supplier escalation.
- Payment and data: Map customer collection, supplier settlement, and every system that stores, transmits, or processes cardholder data.
Turn access approval into a launch plan
- Describe the business: Send Amadeus the launch markets, customer and agency model, intended travel segments, expected transaction scale, and servicing needs.
- Request account-specific materials: Obtain the Enterprise API list and specifications, sandbox access, authentication instructions, production criteria, support path, and commercial terms that apply to your case.
- Map each customer journey: Define search, selection, final confirmation, booking, retrieval, and post-booking actions for each segment. Mark which details are confirmed by the contract and which still need supplier or Amadeus confirmation.
- Set ownership and payment rules: Agree how tickets are issued, who collects customer funds, how supplier settlement works, who handles changes and refunds, and whether markups are permitted.
- Build and validate the integration: Implement against the account’s specifications in the approved sandbox. Test stale or unavailable offers, failed reservations, timeouts, duplicate submissions, and servicing paths using documented behaviors rather than assumptions.
- Complete production readiness: Verify security, privacy, payment compliance, tenant isolation, operational monitoring, support escalation, and production access requirements with the relevant providers and Amadeus.
