AM Intelligence says it plans to invest more than US$20 billion over 15 months and has placed two further firm orders for 20,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs. The company says those systems will add around 70 MW of capacity in India and Malaysia, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. The figures come from the company announcement reported by PTI; they do not independently confirm financing, delivery or completed data-center capacity.
What AM Intelligence announced
In an announcement reported by PTI on 5 October 2026, AI infrastructure firm AM Intelligence (AMI) said it had placed two additional firm and binding orders for 20,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs. The company described the orders as follow-on capacity for deployment in India and Malaysia.

The company says the 20,000-GPU follow-on orders represent around 70 MW, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. AMI named India and Malaysia as the intended deployment locations, but the report does not specify how the GPUs or capacity will be divided between the two countries.

- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
Delivery is a scheduled target, not confirmation that the systems have arrived or are operating. The report does not establish construction status or whether the planned capacity will come online on schedule.
How the new orders fit into AMI’s earlier commitment
AMI says it has placed three orders to date, totaling approximately 29,000 GPUs and close to 100 MW. The earlier order was for 9,000 GPUs associated with 30 MW at the company’s Hyderabad facility, which AMI had announced in August. The new orders account for around 70 MW of the reported total; the larger capex plan and the 20,000-GPU orders are related announcements, but they describe different scopes.
| Announcement or target | Figure reported | What it describes |
|---|---|---|
| Two new firm orders | 20,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs; around 70 MW | Follow-on capacity intended for India and Malaysia, with delivery scheduled for Q2 2027 |
| Three orders to date | Approximately 29,000 GPUs; close to 100 MW | AMI’s reported combined order total, including the new follow-on orders |
| Earlier Hyderabad order | 9,000 GPUs; 30 MW | Initial order for the Hyderabad facility, announced in August |
| Additional investment plan | More than US$20 billion over 15 months | AMI’s planned additional capex; financing details are not stated in the PTI report |
AMI separately said it had US$6 billion committed for an initial 100 MW and tied the additional capex plan to bringing 300 MW to market over 15 months. That 300 MW is a broader capacity plan, not the same figure as the around 70 MW associated with the 20,000 new GPU orders. These are company-reported commitments and plans, not evidence that the capacity is already operational. [PTI report syndicated by Rediff Moneynews]

AMI’s wider capacity goals
AMI describes a roughly 400 MW compute-as-a-service pipeline across India, the United States, Europe and Malaysia. It calls the three GPU orders the first committed tranche in that pipeline, with remaining phases under development for 2027 and early 2028.
The company’s stated longer-term ambitions are 1 GW of compute-as-a-service capacity and 5 GW of powered AI data centers across India, the United States and Europe. Pipeline and goal figures describe plans, not delivered or operating capacity. The PTI report does not independently verify these totals. [PTI report syndicated by Rediff Moneynews]

What AMI says the facilities will use
AMI Chairman Anil Chalamalasetty said both facilities would follow the architecture standard of the Hyderabad AI Factory, combining NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform with high-throughput RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) networking and advanced storage systems. This is the company’s description of its planned design; the report does not establish that the new facilities have been built or that this equipment is installed.
“Both facilities will be built to the same architecture standard as the Hyderabad AI Factory, integrating the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform with high-throughput RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) networking for fast, efficient data movement, alongside advanced storage systems.”

What is confirmed—and what remains unknown
The reported facts are that AMI announced the investment plan and orders, described the planned capacity and locations, and gave a target delivery period. The PTI report attributes these details to AMI; it does not provide independent confirmation of the funding, GPU supply, completed construction, actual deliveries or operating capacity.
The announcement therefore establishes the scale of AMI’s stated plans, not proof that the money has been raised or that the GPU deployment will happen on schedule. The Economic Times topic listing corroborates the announcement’s headline and core order and capacity summary, while the Rediff item identifies itself as a PTI syndicated report.
