The Alphacool Apex Distro Plate Y70 replaces the front cover of a HYTE Y70 or Y70 Touch Infinite with an acrylic reservoir and aRGB-lit distribution plate for a custom liquid-cooling loop. It is a loop component, not a complete cooling system: Alphacool says the pump is sold separately, and the rest of the loop must be planned and supplied for your build.
What the Apex Distro Plate Y70 does
A distro plate provides a visible reservoir and connection points for routing coolant through a custom loop. Alphacool’s plate is shaped for the Y70-family front-cover position and mounts using the case’s original screws and bracket. Its product descriptions specify acrylic construction, chrome-plated brass G1/4 fittings, and integrated digital aRGB lighting. Alphacool says the two-piece fittings use an O-ring rather than threading directly into the acrylic; that is the manufacturer’s stated design rationale for reducing cracking-related leak risk, not comparative test evidence.
The product listings specify eight G1/4 connections, plus a fill port and a drain port, and approximately 372 ml maximum filling volume. They also list 11 digital aRGB LEDs powered at 5 V and a three-year warranty. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results.
Case compatibility: Y70 and Y70 Touch Infinite only
Alphacool describes the plate as exclusively compatible with the HYTE Y70 and Y70 Touch Infinite. It replaces the front cover; the product-specific compatibility claim does not extend to the Y60, other HYTE models, or generic cases. Check the exact model name before ordering rather than assuming that a similar-looking chassis will fit.

The pump is not included
Alphacool explicitly states that a pump is not included. Its product copy refers to D5/VPP and DDC formats, while the technical tables are not consistent about DDC support and list VPP/D5. If you plan to use a DDC pump, confirm compatibility in the current manual or datasheet for the exact color variant before purchase. The company announced a separate VPP/D5 pump sealing cap on September 24, 2026; that announcement does not say the cap is included with the plate.
What else a custom loop requires
The plate connects to a larger water-cooling loop. The product listing does not establish a universal layout or include the other loop components, so plan the full build rather than treating the plate as an all-in-one cooler.

- A compatible pump, if you do not already own one.
- Radiator capacity appropriate to the components in your build.
- CPU and, if desired, GPU water blocks.
- Tubing and G1/4-compatible fittings planned around your route through the plate and the rest of the loop.
- Coolant compatible with the manufacturer’s guidance.
Alphacool instructs users to use clear, transparent water-cooling fluid and warns that particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog or permanently damage loop components. This is manufacturer guidance; it is not an independent finding about every coolant or loop configuration.

Black and white variants: verify dimensions and pressure data
Alphacool offers black and white listings, but their published technical tables conflict on some mechanical values. Do not infer that the variants have identical depth or pressure specifications from the shared appearance or product name.

These figures come from Alphacool’s respective product listings, whose tables are inconsistent. Confirm the current, color-specific documentation before relying on depth, pressure limits, or pump-format details for a purchase or build. Measure available clearance and plan port access in your own case.
Installation and purchase checklist
Alphacool says the plate uses the Y70’s original screws and mounting bracket, then connects to the custom loop. The product pages link to a manual, but their published information does not establish a reliable step-by-step procedure, required tool list, or installation time. Use the current manual for your variant rather than relying on a generic installation sequence.

- Choose the black or white variant to suit the build.
- Check the current variant manual or datasheet for pump-format compatibility, especially if using DDC.
- Verify current dimensions and clearances against the case and planned fittings.
- Map radiator, block, tubing, and fitting positions for the complete loop; the listing does not prescribe a universal routing plan.
- Follow Alphacool’s guidance on clear transparent coolant.
- Recheck regional price, stock, and applicable warranty terms with the seller before ordering, since listings and availability can change.
Is it the right choice for your build?
The Apex Distro Plate Y70 is a purpose-built option if your project is a custom loop in one of the two specified Y70 models and you want a front-cover reservoir with integrated lighting. It is less straightforward if you need a complete cooling kit, have not selected a compatible pump, or cannot confirm clearance and variant specifications. Alphacool’s published material does not provide comparable independent data for cooling performance or installation ease, so those qualities cannot be ranked from the product listing alone.
