Allianz has announced a reciprocal leadership change scheduled for November 1, 2026: Philipp Kroetz is set to become CEO of Allianz Partners, while Laurent Floquet is set to become CEO of Allianz Direct. Both appointments are subject to regulatory approval. Tomas Kunzmann, the outgoing Allianz Partners CEO, is scheduled to join the Allianz SE Board of Management on January 1, 2027.

What changes for Tomas Kunzmann?
Kunzmann is scheduled to join the Allianz SE Board of Management on January 1, 2027. That is a separate transition from the November CEO changes and is not scheduled to take effect on the same date as Kroetz’s and Floquet’s appointments.
Who are Philipp Kroetz and Laurent Floquet?
Philipp Kroetz
Allianz says Kroetz has led Allianz Direct since January 2022. It describes Allianz Direct as its European direct property and casualty insurer, and says he renewed its platform and expanded its customer base across five European markets. Allianz’s announcement reports that Allianz Direct served more than 3.2 million customers and recorded total business volume above €1.5 billion in 2025, with 23% year-over-year growth and a 95% combined ratio. Allianz also reports that its customer rating rose from 4.4 to 4.6 stars; the announcement does not identify the rating platform. These are company-reported figures, not independently verified results. Allianz’s October 1, 2026 announcement provides the figures and describes Kroetz’s tenure. His CEO appointment at Allianz Direct took effect January 1, 2022, according to Allianz’s November 4, 2021 notice.

Laurent Floquet
Floquet became Allianz Partners’ COO in January 2025. Allianz’s biography says he previously served on its Board of Management with responsibility for Assistance and held earlier leadership roles in Mobility & Assistance, regional CEO positions, and sales. He joined Allianz in 2014 after more than ten years at Accenture as an insurance-focused partner. This background is based on the company’s account in its appointment announcement.
