Fortnite’s Extraction Gizmos are consumables that help players extract, find, or enhance Sprites. Epic’s original lineup had three: Portable Extractor, Lucky Locator, and Extraction Site Booster. A September 21, 2026 guide reports a broader Chapter 7 Season 4 roster, but Epic has not published a complete current-season list in the sources available here. Check the live Gizmo Wheel and in-game quests before relying on a specific item, cost, or code.
What Extraction Gizmos do
Epic describes Extraction Gizmos as consumables that provide shortcuts or enhancements for Sprite extractions. Players access them through the pickaxe slot’s Gizmo Wheel. The original Gizmos were built around extracting a Sprite, locating one, or boosting an extraction at a designated site. Epic Games Support explains Extraction Gizmos.
Epic’s original three Extraction Gizmos
Portable Extractor
Extracts the Sprite you have equipped from anywhere on the island, rather than requiring you to use an Extraction Site. This is the most direct option when you want to extract a Sprite without traveling to a site. Epic’s v41.00 notes describe its original function.

Tracks a buried chest guaranteed to contain a Sprite you have not collected yet. Epic’s v41.20 notes said the Lucky Locator was still to come in v41.30, so its introduction was staged rather than part of the initial v41.00 lineup. Epic’s v41.20 notes distinguish the earlier Sprite Locator, which found a nearby buried chest with a random Sprite, from the later Lucky Locator.

Extraction Site Booster
Calls a special Extraction Crate to an Extraction Site. The Sprite extracted there receives a boost; Epic’s v41.20 notes add that the crate grants bonus Sprite Dust and can contain support items. Using it can attract other players’ attention, so weigh the improved extraction against the risk of revealing your position. Epic’s original description and v41.20 details cover these effects.
Chapter 7 Season 4 roster reported by a secondary guide
Beebom’s guide, updated September 21, 2026, lists six items for Chapter 7 Season 4. Its own tier-list introduction says five, however, so the list below should be treated as that guide’s reported roster—not a complete, officially confirmed Epic list. The listed acquisition routes are likewise reported routes, not guaranteed current drops or rewards. Beebom’s dated Extraction Gizmos guide is the source for these seasonal details.

These effects, prices, and code routes are the guide’s September 21, 2026 report. Check the in-game interface to see what is available now; codes and quest rewards may change. Epic’s season announcement confirms that Season 3 Sprites remain in Sprite Garden during Chapter 7 Season 4, but it does not confirm this full Gizmo roster. Epic’s August 20, 2026 Override announcement describes the continuing Sprite system.

Epic’s general guidance lists three ways to earn more Gizmos: complete Bonus Goals quests, spend Sprite Dust, and progress through Sprite Mastery. Which items are currently available through each route can vary, so use the live game rather than treating a past reward schedule as permanent.

The September 21, 2026 guide also reports item-specific quest rewards, Sprite Dust prices, and Admin Panel codes for its Chapter 7 Season 4 list. Because these can change, confirm any code or reward in-game before planning around it.

Inventory, expiry, and mode availability
- Gizmos cannot be traded or dropped when you are eliminated.
- Your Gizmo inventory persists for the season and expires when the season ends. Epic says the expiry timer can be checked in the Battle Royale mode-selection screen or Gizmo Wheel. Epic Games Support’s inventory guidance explains these rules.
- Epic’s v41.20 notes said Gizmos were available only in unranked Battle Royale and Zero Build at that time. That is a historical rule from the Runners period, not confirmation of Chapter 7 Season 4 playlist eligibility; check the current mode selection screen.
Which Gizmo should you use?
- Need an immediate extraction away from a site: choose Portable Extractor.
- Looking for a Sprite you have not collected: Lucky Locator is described as guaranteeing an undiscovered Sprite in its chest.
- Want to improve a site extraction: Extraction Site Booster enhances the Sprite and may yield bonus Sprite Dust, but can draw attention.
- Considering a Chapter 7 Season 4-only item: verify its presence and effect in the live Gizmo Wheel; the expanded roster and its routes are reported by a secondary guide, not confirmed by a complete Epic roster.
