Third-party guides report 38 standard collectibles across the five chapters of Act 2 in Gears of War: E-Day: 5 in Bravo Squad, 27 in Hold the Line, 5 in No Gear Left Behind, none in Fly Boys and 1 in Overrun. Xbox has not published an Act 2 subtotal. Use the chapter-by-chapter landmarks below, then check the War Journal’s chapter tally to identify where a pickup is still missing.
Act 2 collectible totals by chapter
These totals are reported by GamersBeacon’s October 2, 2026 guide and corroborated by CGN’s October 5 community checklist; they are not official Xbox counts. The guides track standard collectibles separately from Hard Cases, Supply Caches and Secondary Objectives.

How to track down a missing collectible
The War Journal lists collectibles by act and chapter, including items you have not found, according to the community checklist. Check the chapter tally while playing and compare it with the table above; this narrows the search to a chapter instead of requiring another full-act sweep.
Pickup names and directions vary between guides, particularly in Hold the Line. Treat disputed landmarks as search areas rather than guaranteed exact placements, and use the in-game tally to verify whether the item counted.

Chapter 1: Bravo Squad — 5 collectibles
Search the control rooms before using their controls or leaving. These pickups can be easy to miss when following the objective route.
- COG Helmet With Bullet Hole: Behind the ruined bus near the opening street.
- Sniper Goggles: At the far end of the first bridge control room’s left corridor, near a dead Locust.
- Bridge Worker’s Lunch Kit: On the lower gantry beneath the bridge, near police barriers.
- Thrashball RUSH Magazine: In the second, eastern control room, on a metal cart or caddy. Some guides spell “Thrashball” as “Trashball.”
- Medic’s First Aid Kit: On the lower bridge after the Boomer fight, near a burning COG truck.
Chapter 2: Hold the Line — 27 collectibles
This is Act 2’s largest and least linear pickup area. A practical sweep is to search the opening streets and shops, then the bank and nearby alleys, warehouse district, Mags’ apartment, hotel and shelter area, and remaining side-objective locations. The guides do not agree on every precise landmark, so use the names and broader areas below as cues and confirm progress in the War Journal.

- Kalona Postcard: Near the train-station exit; reported landmarks include an alley and a bench or plaza.
- Foreman’s Datapad: On the foreman’s body at the lowest level of the construction site.
Bank, bridge and nearby apartments
- Vandalized Salvaging Poster: Guides place it either in the Major Burger restroom or interior, or in a damaged building near the bank.
- COG Tags of Private Liz Waxman: On apartment scaffolding or a balcony north of the Bank of Tyrus.
- Emgazi Blitz Display Case: In a bedroom in the same apartment building.
- Birthday Card with Toy Lancer: Near the bank and bridge, by a body facing the river. The guides disagree about which side of the bank.
- Kalona Metro Fare Notice: Near the subway entrance south of the bank.
- Tales from the Tyran Night Story Book: In the scaffolded apartment building near the bank.
- COG Tags of Specialist Brendan O’Connell: In a street or alley north of the Financial District, near a body.
- COG Tags of Master Sergeant Mark Avamor: In a loading bay near the Bank of Tyrus and Warehouse District.
- Caricature of Colonel Elias Trench: On a pole near the bridge.

Warehouse, hotel and optional-objective route

Chapter 3: No Gear Left Behind — 5 collectibles
Check the chapter tally before passing the final gate. Guides disagree about the exact point for the first pair of tags, so search around the post-cutscene tunnel and statue area.

What the campaign achievement counts
Xbox Wire’s September 9, 2026 achievement list describes “Memories From E-Day” as “Find all Collectibles in the Campaign (any difficulty).” It does not state an Act 2 subtotal. The same list identifies “The Scorched Legion,” “You Want What On the Front of a Gun?!,” and “Got to the Choppa” as achievements unlocked during Act 2; these are story achievements, not additional standard collectible categories.
For the overall achievement, the relevant requirement is all campaign collectibles on any difficulty. The 38-item figure above is a guide-reported Act 2 count, while Hard Cases, Supply Caches and Secondary Objectives remain separate categories in the guides.
