Alienware’s AW3226Q is now reported available in the US for $699 and in Canada for $949 CAD, according to an October 6, 2026 update from TFTCentral. The flat 31.5-inch 4K monitor pairs an RGB-stripe tandem OLED panel with a native 165Hz refresh rate. The price and availability are market-specific; the update said European timing and pricing were still pending.
What the AW3226Q offers
Alienware announced the AW3226Q on August 26, 2026, describing it as a 32-inch-class, flat 16:9 4K gaming monitor. TFTCentral lists the panel’s precise size as 31.5 inches. Alienware’s announcement says the monitor takes RGB-stripe tandem OLED technology from its 39-inch 5K2K flagship and applies it to a 3840 × 2160 panel.
| Specification | AW3226Q figure | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Panel and resolution | Flat 31.5-inch-class, 3840 × 2160 | Alienware calls it 32 inches; TFTCentral specifies 31.5 inches. |
| Refresh rate | 165Hz native | Alienware manufacturer specification. |
| Response time | 0.03ms gray-to-gray | Alienware manufacturer claim; no independent test result is established by the cited coverage. |
| HDR brightness | Up to 1,000 nits peak | Alienware specification; TFTCentral clarifies this as a peak measured on a 3% window, not full-screen brightness. |
| SDR brightness | 250 nits | Listed by TFTCentral as a product specification, not an independent measurement. |
| Color | 99% DCI-P3; factory Delta E below 2 | Alienware manufacturer specification. |
| Other image formats and ratings | DisplayHDR True Black 400; Dolby Vision | Alienware announcement. |
| Pixel density and contrast | 140 PPI; 1.5 million:1 | Listed by TFTCentral as product specifications. |
The figures above describe published specifications, not model-specific independent laboratory results in the cited sources. In particular, the response-time and brightness numbers should not be read as independently verified performance.
What RGB-stripe tandem OLED is intended to change
Alienware says its four-stack tandem emissive layer is designed to raise brightness, while RGB-stripe subpixels are intended to preserve color volume and improve text clarity. The company also says a polarizer layer helps maintain deep blacks in bright environments. These are product-design claims, not a guarantee that text will appear identical across operating systems, fonts, viewing distances, or lighting conditions.
#1 Best Overall
- QD-OLED technology enables stunningly rich color and clarity, while QHD resolution (2560x1440) provides high level of detail.
- 360Hz refresh rate translates to superb motion clarity, empowering players to see and react to in-game situations at high speed.
- 0.03 ms gray-to-gray minimum response time** virtually eliminates blurring and ghosting and keeps latency to an absolute minimum.
- Infinite contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 make for deep blacks and stunning brights, all in the same scene.
- Excellent color performance with DCI-P3 99.3% color coverage and Delta E<2 accuracy for true-to-life visuals.
The RGB-stripe layout is the monitor’s main stated productivity angle: it may interest people who want one display for gaming and desktop work, not just high-refresh-rate play. But the cited coverage does not establish an independent side-by-side test of AW3226Q text rendering. PCWorld’s September 2, 2026 article discusses the text-clarity premise and Dell’s explanation of the architecture, while noting it had not reviewed the monitor: PCWorld’s coverage.
Ports, adjustment, and warranty
Alienware’s announcement lists two HDMI 2.1 FRL ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, USB-A downstream ports, and a USB-C downstream connection rated at 15W. The company also lists height, tilt, and swivel adjustment. That is a useful connection set for a gaming display, but the cited specification is DisplayPort 1.4 rather than DisplayPort 2.1, and the USB-C power figure is 15W—not a high-power laptop-charging connection.

Who should consider it
- 4K high-refresh-rate gamers: the combination of 3840 × 2160 and 165Hz is the core gaming proposition, subject to having a PC or console setup capable of driving the desired resolution and frame rate.
- People combining gaming with desktop work: RGB-stripe subpixels are specifically presented as a route to clearer text, but the practical result should be judged on the buyer’s own system and use rather than assumed from the layout alone.
- Buyers who need newer connectivity or heavier USB-C charging: compare carefully if DisplayPort 2.1 or more than 15W from USB-C is a requirement.
- OLED buyers weighing longevity: include the stated three-year burn-in coverage in the decision, and read the exact local warranty terms rather than assuming identical coverage worldwide.
