Albatross Lending Group joined the Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA) as a lender member, according to an announcement published on 1 October 2026. The announcement describes Albatross as offering short-term property finance and secured funding for UK small and medium-sized enterprises; it does not disclose loan rates, fees, terms or eligibility criteria.

What Albatross Lending Group does

Coverage of the membership announcement describes two parts of Albatross Lending Group’s business: property finance and secured SME funding. These are broad descriptions of its areas of activity, not a complete product guide or confirmation that any particular borrower will qualify. Mortgage Introducer and Bridging & Commercial reported matching descriptions.

Property finance

The announcement coverage says the property finance division serves individuals, companies and overseas borrowers with residential and semi-commercial funding needs. It describes the finance as short-term, but does not set out specific products, loan durations or qualifying property types.

Secured funding for SMEs

For small and medium-sized businesses, the reports list possible funding purposes including growth, investment, acquisitions, working capital, refinancing and restructuring. They do not provide application criteria or details of the security required.

What the BDLA is

The BDLA is a UK trade association representing bridging and development lenders. The announcement coverage describes its role as promoting standards and representing member perspectives to government, regulators and the wider property finance industry. A separate Cherry release also describes member activities such as market insight, networking, events, media activity and opportunities to contribute to sector development.

Membership is an association relationship; it is not evidence of regulatory approval, a guarantee of loan quality or an endorsement of a specific loan. It does not establish whether a loan is suitable for a borrower.

What the membership announcement does—and does not—tell borrowers

BDLA membership gives Albatross a place in an industry association whose stated work includes representing lenders and promoting standards. Joshua Field, Albatross Lending Group’s chief operating officer, called joining a “natural next step” as the business grows and said the company wanted to contribute to sector discussions. BDLA chief executive Adam Tyler said specialist lenders can play a role when transactions call for speed, flexibility or an individual approach to underwriting. These are attributed views, not independently verified claims about the performance or terms of Albatross loans.

The announcement does not provide the information needed to compare a lending offer. It gives no rates, fees, repayment terms, eligibility criteria or named referral programme. Borrowers considering finance would need to obtain those details for the specific product and their circumstances.
