Alabaster Dawn version 0.2.0 adds gameplay previews of Scala Moor and the Trial of Cryo, opens a path in Koro Valley, and introduces the Spear, Cryo aspect, and a combat-practice Dojo. It is not a story expansion: Radical Fish Games says the update does not extend the story, and story for the preview content is planned for a future update.
Radical Fish Games announced version 0.2.0 on October 2, 2026. The update mixes new combat and exploration content with interface, localization, audio, and Somu’s Dream changes. The developer’s version 0.2.0 patch notes are the source for the changes described below.
Alabaster Dawn is an Early Access action RPG by Radical Fish Games, released on Steam on May 7, 2026. Its Steam listing says development updates will gradually expand the story and content; the planned full version is intended to include the complete story across seven chapters. Those are development plans and may change.
What new gameplay content does version 0.2.0 add?
Scala Moor, Trial of Cryo, and Koro Valley
Scala Moor and the Trial of Cryo are available as gameplay previews. The update also opens a previously blocked path in Koro Valley. These additions let players explore and try new gameplay, but they are not story-complete areas.

The Spear and Cryo aspect
The Spear is a new melee weapon, while Cryo is a new aspect. Together with the preview areas, they are the update’s main additions for players looking for fresh combat and exploration.
The Dojo
A Dojo is accessible from any Waysprout. It provides a place to practice combos with infinite health and regenerating Divine Charge. Enemy essences unlock opponents to fight there, so the practice options depend on which essences the player has obtained.
Is the new content part of the story?
No. The developer states, “This update does not extend the story!” It describes the new areas as gameplay previews and says proper story for this content is planned for a future update. Radical Fish Games recommends keeping a save from before trying the preview if you want to replay it later with the intended story context.
What combat and control changes are included?
Loadouts and gamepad options
- Pressing the current element’s aspect button again swaps loadouts.
- A gamepad-only option disables aspect changes from the right stick.
- Gamepad rumble is adjustable. The developer describes this as an initial implementation that may change based on feedback.
Guarding and boost
Guarding and blocking now consume stamina. A guard can still start when stamina is empty, but it breaks if the incoming attack is not parried. The boost recharge rate has been decreased by 50%; the patch notes say compensating enchantments are planned, not that they are already included in this update.
What interface, map, and localization updates are there?
- Map markers have been added, along with changes to world-map display.
- The Treasure Radar is now working.
- German localization has been added. The developer cautions that translations may be incomplete for recent additions, particularly preview content.
- Patch notes are available from the title screen.
- The Gem Forge shows more comparison information.
- Several context-help and world-map display details have been changed.
What changed in audio and Somu’s Dream?
The patch notes list new field and battle music for Aurum Plains and Scala Moor, as well as a dungeon theme for the Trial of Cryo. Somu’s Dream receives a Scala Moor layer, blessings and perks, a flawless-combat bonus, and balance changes. The Rogue Exchange Shop has been removed for now.
