Akio Ōtsuka, the Japanese voice actor associated with Solid Snake, has reportedly expressed a wish for Hideo Kojima to make one more Metal Gear game. The available report is a Reddit post, not an official announcement or a located original interview, so the underlying wording and context remain unverified. It does not confirm that Kojima or Konami is developing a new game.
What was reportedly said—and what it means
A Reddit post dated October 4, 2026, attributes the appeal to Ōtsuka and supplies an English rendering of it. Without the original interview, recording, or primary publication, that rendering should not be treated as a verified verbatim quote. Which Solid Snake actor is this?
The word “original” can cause confusion because the series has separate Japanese- and English-language performances. Ōtsuka is associated with Snake’s Japanese voice. David Hayter is the English-language Snake actor; a 2026 Fall Damage interview description identifies Hayter with the role from Metal Gear Solid through Metal Gear Solid 4. Has Kojima announced another Metal Gear?
No announcement is established by Ōtsuka’s reported appeal. It is a personal wish as presented in the post, and it does not say that Kojima has agreed, that Konami has approved a project, or whether a possible game would be an original entry or a remake.
