No—Airtel Black does not make DTH universally free. Some fixed Airtel Black plans include DTH in a stated monthly bundle price, while custom bundles have a minimum DTH rental. A DTH box or installation may also cost extra. Airtel’s terms describe a conditional advance-payment option that can cover certain hardware and activation charges, but the advance is applied to future bills rather than being a free service.
What “DTH included” means in an Airtel Black plan
Airtel Black brings eligible Airtel services under a combined plan. When a fixed entertainment plan lists broadband and DTH or IPTV together, you pay the plan’s monthly rental for the bundle; it does not mean standalone DTH has no cost. Airtel also notes that DTH billing can vary because it uses a daily burn rate. Airtel’s Black terms and conditions state: “The monthly billing amount of Airtel BLACK plans with DTH may vary due to the Daily Burn Rate nature of DTH.”
Fixed Airtel Black plans that list DTH
Airtel’s terms list fixed entertainment plans with monthly rentals from ₹399 to ₹3,999, pairing rentals with stated broadband speeds and DTH channel counts. These are Airtel-listed terms checked on 7 October 2026, not a guarantee that a plan is currently offered at every address.

How DTH works in a custom Airtel Black bundle
Eligible customers can build a custom plan by combining at least two active connections from different Airtel service categories, including DTH. Airtel’s terms state a minimum DTH rental of ₹260, excluding taxes. They also describe a ₹100 discount for bundling two or more categories, but list exceptions: the ₹399 fixed entertainment plan, postpaid add-ons, some lower-rental COIP postpaid lines and secondary DTH connections do not qualify.
The ₹100 offer is described as limited-time and applicable to new connections beginning 1 April 2024. Its continued availability for a particular signup is not assured; confirm the current offer with Airtel. Airtel Black’s terms set out the plan and discount conditions.
Is the DTH box or installation free?
Not automatically. Airtel says hardware and installation charges apply for each DTH box unless a stated benefit covers them. Under the specified ₹2,500 advance-pay mode, Airtel’s terms say hardware and installation or activation can be provided at no extra charge for up to one Airtel DTH connection and one Xstream Fiber connection within the Black plan.
That ₹2,500 is an advance balance, not a waived bill: Airtel applies it to future unbilled amounts and may use it toward outstanding bills. The terms say it is non-refundable once all selected Airtel Black services are activated. Airtel describes separate arrangements for the ₹399 fixed plan and a different advance amount for the ₹3,999 plan, so the ₹2,500 condition should not be assumed to apply to those plans. Read the current Airtel Black terms for the exact plan you are considering.
Other DTH charges to check
- Secondary connection: Airtel says a secondary DTH connection costs ₹500 less than the applicable primary HD or Hybrid box price.
- Service visits or equipment work: Airtel’s Black DTH service-charge list gives charges for certain set-top-box replacement and relocation cases, while listing visits as free for Black subscribers. These service charges are separate from the monthly bundle rental.
- Taxes and changing usage charges: The custom-plan minimum is stated before taxes, and Airtel says DTH billing can vary with the daily burn rate. Check the itemized bill rather than assuming the advertised bundle rental is the total in every billing period.

- Check Airtel’s current Black offer for your address and telecom circle; fixed plans are not stated to be available everywhere.
- Identify whether you are choosing a fixed entertainment plan or creating a custom bundle. For a custom plan, confirm that your active connections meet the eligibility conditions and ask whether the DTH rental and any bundle discount apply.
- Ask Airtel to itemize the monthly rental, taxes, DTH charges, box and installation costs, and any service charges that may apply.
- If offered an advance-pay hardware benefit, confirm the required amount, which connections it covers, how the balance is used, and when it becomes non-refundable.
