Apple’s listed prices and the models to compare
In the cited Apple pricing information, AirPods 4 cost $129, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) cost $179, and AirPods Pro 3 were listed at $249 in Apple’s US education price list dated April 1, 2026. Apple’s buying page listed the AirPods 4 models at $129 and $179 and included AirPods Pro 3 in its comparison. These are Apple-listed prices, not promises about retailer pricing.

The title’s “AirPods Pro” comparison is best read as a comparison with AirPods Pro 3, the current Pro generation identified in the cited comparison. AirPods 4 also comes in two distinct versions: standard and ANC. The standard model’s $129 Apple price is not the same offer as the $179 ANC version.
Which AirPods are the better Father’s Day gift?
Choose AirPods 4 if you want the lower-cost option
Standard AirPods 4 were the less expensive choice at Apple’s listed $129 price, and they appeared at $99 in the June 10 deal report. They may suit someone who wants AirPods without prioritizing the additional listening modes offered by the ANC model. Apple estimates up to five hours of battery life on a charge for standard AirPods 4.

Choose AirPods 4 with ANC for noise-control modes
For $179 on Apple’s buying page, the AirPods 4 ANC model adds Active Noise Cancellation, Adaptive Audio and Transparency mode. Apple estimates up to five hours on a charge, or four hours with ANC enabled. Those are manufacturer estimates, not independent battery-test results.

AirPods Pro 3 were listed at $249 in Apple’s April 1 US education pricing, while the June reports put their sale price as low as $169. That makes the Pro 3 worth comparing when a sale brings it closer to the AirPods 4 ANC price. Whether the added cost is worthwhile depends on the recipient’s preferences; the available information does not establish independent sound, comfort or noise-cancellation test results.

How to check before buying now
- Look up the exact model name: AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with ANC, or AirPods Pro 3. Similar names do not mean identical features or prices.
- Check the current listing price and stock directly with the retailer. The June 2026 sale reports do not confirm an October price or availability.
