Good Airbnb alternatives for festival stays include official festival camping, hotels and other lodging found through booking services, whole-home rentals for groups, and nearby campsites or glamping. The right choice depends on the festival’s rules, how you will get back after the final performance, your group’s needs, and the full cost—not just the nightly rate. Start with the festival’s current accommodation page, then compare options against your dates and route.
Which Airbnb alternative fits your festival trip?
These options solve different problems. Onsite camping can keep you close to the event; a hotel offers a conventional room; a whole-home rental can give a group a shared base; and an outdoor-stay marketplace may surface campsites, cabins, or glamping nearby. None is automatically available, affordable, or convenient for every festival.

Start with the festival’s own accommodation rules
Camping and vehicle policies differ by event and can change from year to year. Coachella’s camping page says RV or motorhome camping is not allowed and that guests at a vehicle campsite may not move their vehicle for the duration of the festival. Download Festival, by contrast, lists a dedicated campervan campsite and directs guests to its festival information for booking. These are event-specific examples, not rules that apply to other festivals.
Check whether camping requires a separate ticket or a particular festival pass. We Out Here says anyone camping, for any number of days, must purchase a full-weekend festival camping ticket; its FAQ also discusses commuting from the local area. Read the current terms for your event rather than assuming a standard camping entitlement.

For offsite options, check the festival’s own guidance before paying. Glastonbury warns that it takes no responsibility for goods or services at unofficial offsite campsites. Its information page said, when accessed, that details of official 2027 accommodation would be released later in autumn after ticket sales; check the page for updates before making plans.

Compare hotels and other stays through booking services
Broad accommodation marketplaces can help you look beyond Airbnb. Booking.com describes options ranging from hotels to treehouses, but a listing’s location does not show whether the journey will work after a late finish. Compare the complete route from the accommodation to the festival and back, including the last available service, walking sections, and any shuttle or taxi arrangements. Booking.com’s linked page describes its affiliate program; it does not establish lodging availability or prices for your dates.

Use the listing details to check check-in hours, cancellation terms, fees, and the final price for the whole stay. If your group may arrive after the advertised check-in window, confirm directly with the property before booking.

Consider a whole-home rental for a group
A whole-home rental can work when friends want private shared space, a kitchen, or several bedrooms. Vrbo describes listings that include homes, cabins, villas, and apartments. That range does not establish that a suitable property is near your festival, so verify the actual route, capacity, house rules, fees, and cancellation conditions before committing.

Count beds and sleeping arrangements rather than relying only on a maximum guest number. Also confirm how keys are collected and whether the property’s check-in process accommodates your arrival time.

Look for nearby campsites and outdoor stays
Outdoor-stay marketplaces may help you find existing campsites, RV resorts, cabins, treehouses, or glamping. Hipcamp describes listings in the US, Australia, Canada, and the UK. It is a search option for existing nearby stays, not an official festival accommodation provider: its hosting standards do not permit listings for one-time festival hosting events and say residential-neighborhood listings are generally unsuitable.

Check the specific property’s facilities, host rules, payment terms, and route to the venue. A nearby-looking campsite may still require a car or have limited late-night transport. If you plan to bring a vehicle onto festival grounds, check the festival’s vehicle rules separately from the campsite’s rules.

- Flexibility: Compare cancellation deadlines, check-in hours, and arrival arrangements.
- Eligibility: Confirm camping tickets, permitted vehicle types, and any access rules that apply to your chosen stay.
There is no reliable universal price or availability comparison without a festival, destination, and dates. Confirm those details against current listings and event information before you book.
