Air is a creative-operations workspace for organizing visual assets and managing the work around them—not simply a cloud drive. Product Hunt’s alternatives point to several different directions: Bynder and Brandfolder for enterprise digital asset management (DAM), Playbook for a creator-oriented visual library, and ClickUp for connecting tasks with assets. These are shortlist suggestions, not the result of a controlled feature or price comparison.

The right alternative depends on whether your main problem is brand governance, finding and sharing creative files, or coordinating production tasks. Use the options below to build a shortlist, then verify the specific features and plan limits your workflow requires.

What Air does—and what counts as an alternative

Air describes itself as “Your agent for creative tasks.” Its official materials cover a visual library for creative assets alongside search, review, approvals, collaboration, and adapting approved work for different channels. The help center also describes AI-enabled keywords, Boolean and visual search, briefs, project landing pages, upload collection, comments and annotations, version stacking, custom metadata, and kanban views. These are Air’s own product descriptions, not independently tested findings. Air’s official site and its help center overview provide the current vendor context.

That breadth matters when comparing products. A DAM is generally centered on storing, organizing, governing, and distributing brand assets; a creator library may prioritize visual browsing and sharing; project-management software may center on tasks and ownership. Those categories overlap, but a tool in one category is not automatically a substitute for every part of Air’s workflow.

Product Hunt’s Air alternatives page groups products by adjacent use cases. Its suggestions are useful for discovery, but they do not establish feature parity, a best overall product, or comparative value.

Air alternatives by use case

Need to solve Shortlist direction What to check before choosing
Enterprise asset governance Bynder or Brandfolder, suggested by Product Hunt Permission models, governance controls, integrations, migration support, current plan limits, and customer support.
A creator-focused visual library Playbook, suggested by Product Hunt Supported asset types, search and organization, sharing and collaboration, and storage limits.
Tasks connected to creative assets ClickUp, suggested by Product Hunt How file previews, approvals, task ownership, and creative review work in the current product.
Image or video APIs, or a specialized image library Screen ImageKit and other products listed on Product Hunt, including Tagbox.io, PixelBin.io, Eagle, and Raster Whether the need is a DAM, an API, a content library, or an end-to-end production workflow.

The categories and names in this table reflect Product Hunt’s discovery-page framing; the checks are questions to investigate, not verified differences between vendors. Product Hunt’s list does not provide a complete feature matrix or establish that every listed product competes directly with Air.

How to choose between Air and an alternative

Start with the workflow bottleneck

Write down the work that currently causes delays: finding the right approved file, controlling who can use it, collecting feedback, tracking revisions, assigning production work, or adapting creative for new placements. Then identify which steps must happen inside one product. If governance is central, prioritize DAM controls; if browsing and sharing are central, scrutinize the library experience; if task ownership is the problem, test how project software handles asset review rather than assuming file attachment is enough.

Compare the capabilities your team will actually use

Air highlights visual search, approvals, sharing, permissions, integrations, desktop sync, creative adaptation, and video workflows. Treat those as evaluation prompts, not as proof that another product lacks them or that Air meets every team’s requirements. Ask each vendor to demonstrate your real process with your asset types and roles, including how a file moves from upload through review, approval, revision, and distribution. Check migration, access, and plan fit

Before committing, confirm how existing files, metadata, versions, and permissions can be brought over; what users and external collaborators can access; which integrations are available; and which limits apply to the plan you would buy. The reviewed Product Hunt and Air pages do not provide a complete cross-vendor pricing comparison or verified migration analysis, so get current details directly from each vendor rather than inferring them from category labels.

What the available Air figures do—and don’t—show

Air’s help center article, dated August 7, 2026, says that more than 120,000 creatives and 1,600-plus brands use Air to manage 50 million images and videos every day. These are company-published figures, not independent market measurements or comparative performance data. Air’s “What is Air?” article

Product Hunt recorded Air as launched in 2018 and showed 4.7 stars from 11 reviews and 2.9K followers when its profile was accessed on October 7, 2026. These are platform page counts that may change; they are not a controlled assessment of the alternatives. The profile also lists prior launches, including Air for Teams, Air 3.0, and an Adobe Premiere Pro integration. Product Hunt’s Air profile

Verdict: shortlist by workflow, not by name

Start with Bynder or Brandfolder if enterprise governance is the main requirement, Playbook if you want to evaluate a creator-oriented visual library, and ClickUp if the priority is connecting work to tasks. Consider ImageKit and the other Product Hunt listings only after deciding whether you need an API, a specialized library, or a broader creative workflow. Validate each candidate against your own approval path, permissions, integrations, migration needs, and plan limits; Product Hunt’s suggestions are a starting point, not a winner ranking.
