To improve Essence Extraction in Aion 2, keep gathering to raise the skill level, then invest its passive skill points; NCSOFT says higher skill levels improve extraction speed and success rate. There is no verified percentage table for success odds by level or skill allocation. For the Professional specialty, reach Essence Extraction level 50 and complete the promotion quest with one Splendent Ruby.
How Essence Extraction attempts work
Essence Extraction is Aion 2’s gathering system. Gathering is available from character level 45. At a node, watch the success and failure gauges: you collect the resource if the success gauge reaches 100% first; the attempt fails if the failure gauge reaches 100% first. Node durability falls with every attempt, including failures, and the node disappears when durability is depleted. NCSOFT’s official Taiwan guide describes these mechanics and was updated March 30, 2026: Essence Extraction system guide.
The number of attempts available is determined by a node’s remaining durability; the official guide does not establish a single fixed attempt count for all nodes.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsHow to raise your extraction level and success rate
- Gather repeatedly. Successful or failed attempts still consume node durability, but repeated extraction advances the skill and awards dedicated skill points.
- Invest in passive skills. NCSOFT says learned gathering skills are passive and that Essence Extraction level improves speed and success rate. The official guide distinguishes common extraction skills, a reset for allocated points, and specialist skills focused on resource categories.
- Choose a practical area. VGC’s October 5, 2026 guide suggests gathering in areas with several useful node types, naming Orichalcum, Raydam, Azpha, and Odyle as examples. Node availability and locations can vary by service and patch, so check your current map and client.
VGC also names Proficient Handling, Delicate Touch, and Lady Luck among common skills, and recommends learning the first skill for each node type to show nearby nodes on the minimap. Those are guide recommendations, not measured guarantees or a tested optimal build: VGC’s Essence Extraction guide.

- Comfort Grip with Details - The skin-friendly frosted coating is the main comfort grip of the mouse surface, which offers you the most enjoyable fingerprint-free tactility. The left side equipped with rubber texture strengthened the friction and made the mouse easier to control.
- 5 Decent Backlit Modes - Turn the backlit on and make some kills in your gaming battlefield. The hyped dynamic RGB backlit vibe will never let you down when decorating your gaming space, it would be better with other Redragon accessories with lights on.
- Fatigue Killer with Ergonomic Design - Solid frame with a streamlined and general claw-grip design offers a satisfying and comfortable gaming experience with less fatigue even though after hours of use.
The available sources confirm that progression and upgrades help, but they do not give exact success percentages by level or skill point, nor establish an optimal point-by-point build. Treat skill investment as a choice between broad passive effects, node-category specialization, and minimap visibility rather than a proven formula.
How to upgrade Essence Extraction to Professional
Character level 45 unlocks gathering; it is a separate requirement from Essence Extraction level 50, which is the milestone for the specialty promotion quest. The Global quest records specify mastery 50, completion of the specialty test, and one Splendent Ruby. Follow the location set for your faction:

Should you gather for skill progression or target the Ruby?
Choose based on your immediate goal. If you still need skill levels and points, continue gathering useful common nodes. If you have reached level 50 and want the specialist stage, prioritize the faction-specific Splendent Ruby quest. Which route is faster depends on current node availability and your location; the available sources do not establish a best farming route or a numerical success-rate advantage for one approach.
