“Slurp Juice” is an NFT-era meme, not a new AI product. As a metaphor, it captures a possibility raised in a discussion of AI-made Italian brain rot: people with little animation experience may be able to create and share strange characters and stories together. The resemblance is about participation in shared, absurd entertainment—not identical technology, ownership, or proof that a new era has arrived.
What “Slurp Juice” refers to
Know Your Meme describes Slurp Juice as an NFT item connected to Astro Ape NFTs. Its entry, added May 4, 2022 and updated January 27, 2025, documents how the phrase became a copypasta: an explanation of how multiple items could be used with one ape was parodied and circulated online. Know Your Meme’s Slurp Juice entry provides that history.
In this title, “Slurp Juice” is a metaphor for a moment when participation and remixing become part of the entertainment. It does not refer to a drink, a recommendation to buy an NFT, or an AI tool.
What AI-made Italian brain rot has to do with it
A Hard Fork episode transcript discusses Italian brain rot as absurdist viral entertainment made with AI: creators use tools to produce odd, named characters and short videos. The conversation considers text-to-video as a way for people without animation skills to turn ideas into shareable clips. Read the relevant Hard Fork transcript.

The comparison to Slurp Juice is an interpretation, not a claim that the two phenomena are the same. The NFT reference involved a collectible and a meme built around it; AI video creation involves generative tools and the making of new media. What links them is the prospect of people joining in to extend a strange, shared entertainment world.
Why the possibility is appealing—and contested
More people can try making things
When text-to-video tools can turn a prompt into a short clip, a person may be able to experiment with characters and scenes without learning animation first. The hosts discuss this as a possibility for crowd-created entertainment, not as an established outcome. It remains uncertain whether these experiments will develop into durable, collaboratively built worlds or stay as fleeting memes.

Participation does not settle the question of consent
The same discussion raises a concern that generative AI systems are trained using other people’s art without their consent. That is a concern voiced by the speakers, not a legal finding established by the transcript. The ability to make and share a video does not, by itself, answer questions about the material used to train a model or the rights associated with its output.
What the “era” framing gets right—and what it does not
Calling this an “era” is evocative, but it should be read as cultural analysis rather than a verified historical label or forecast. AI-assisted memes and NFT copypasta differ in their tools and ownership structures. The analogy is useful only at a narrower level: both invite people to participate in making, repeating, or extending odd shared entertainment. Neither source establishes that AI memes will become an open entertainment franchise or that the trend will last.
