There is no documented universal dashboard that combines spending across every AI code assistant vendor. The dependable way to build one portfolio view is to collect each vendor’s official billing records, retain the original figures, normalize them in a separate reporting layer, and reconcile totals against invoices.

What a cross-vendor spend tracker can—and cannot—do

Vendors expose different reporting surfaces: exports, APIs, dashboards, and product-specific analytics. A single dashboard is therefore an integration you build or configure, not a standard feature you can assume every provider supports. The evidence here covers OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, and Cursor; it does not establish equivalent features for every assistant vendor.

Start by deciding what you mean by “spend.” A usage dashboard may show consumption or estimated costs, while an invoice can include subscription charges, credits, discounts, taxes, and adjustments. Keep these concepts distinct and use the vendor’s billing statement as the financial record of record.

Which reporting sources are available?

Vendor and product Documented reporting source Useful detail and qualifications
OpenAI API Usage Dashboard with monthly review and CSV exports for detailed usage or cost data. OpenAI says the dashboard does not combine cost or usage data across organizations. Check permissions and filters if expected data is missing. OpenAI Usage Dashboard exports; organization limitation.
OpenAI ChatGPT and Codex for enterprise Global Admin Console analytics and a unified Cost API, announced for enterprise reporting. The described view covers credit usage across users, products, and models. It is organization-specific enterprise reporting, not a universal cross-vendor feed. OpenAI enterprise analytics.
GitHub Copilot Organization AI credit usage endpoint and enterprise spend guidance. The example API response includes product, SKU, model, unit type, price per unit, gross and net quantities and amounts, and discounts. Guidance also describes cost centers, budget controls, threshold alerts, and identifying inactive users through an API. Verify API version, permissions, account plan, and billing unit before implementation. GitHub usage endpoint; GitHub enterprise spend guidance.
Anthropic Claude Claude Console cost and usage reports; separate Claude Code organization analytics; Analytics API for Claude Enterprise. Console reports can break usage down by model and API key, subject to role access. Claude Code analytics describes usage, cost, adoption, and productivity views. Anthropic says Enterprise Analytics API data can be brought into Datadog Cloud Cost Management and CloudZero; that does not establish coverage for all vendors. Claude Console reports; Claude Code analytics; Anthropic Analytics API.
Cursor Dashboard usage and token breakdowns, plus centralized team billing. Pricing and usage can vary by plan, model, and mode. Check the current account documentation for commercial details. Cursor pricing and usage documentation.

Build the tracker in six steps

  1. Inventory billing scopes

List each vendor and product, organization or workspace, billing owner, reporting role, billing arrangement (subscription or API), and available export or API. Do not assume one vendor login equals one legal entity, billing scope, or invoice.

  2. Collect official vendor records

Prefer official CSV exports or documented APIs. For every record, store its source, retrieval time, account scope, reporting period, and API version where applicable. Keep the original record intact; do not fill gaps by guessing from another dashboard.

  3. Preserve raw values and normalize separately

Retain reported token counts, credits, requests, seats, subscription amounts, discounts, and currency without alteration. Add derived fields for normalized currency and reporting-period summaries in a separate layer. Credits, tokens, requests, and seats are different units; converting them into one headline number does not make them directly comparable.

  4. Attribute costs only where the source supports it

Use vendor-provided user, model, product, team, API-key, or cost-center fields when available. For example, GitHub’s cited response has SKU/model and gross/net amount fields; Anthropic documents model and API-key breakdowns; OpenAI’s enterprise announcement describes user, product, and model visibility. Do not infer a user or team allocation when the source does not supply one.

  5. Reconcile to billing records

Compare usage records with invoices, including subscription charges, credits, discounts, taxes, and adjustments. Record each vendor’s period boundaries and note delayed adjustments. The cited documentation does not establish a universal reconciliation procedure, so use each vendor’s billing statement as the financial record of record.

  6. Publish coverage and controls

Give readers of the report a concise view of vendor and product, billing period, billed amount, native usage measure, coverage status, and owner or team where supported. Link each total to its source record and make missing accounts visible. Set budget controls at the vendor where offered: GitHub documents controls and threshold alerts for enterprise Copilot spend, but a dashboard by itself should not be treated as an overage-prevention control.

How to judge a dashboard or cost-platform integration

Before relying on an aggregator or building an integration, assess these dimensions for every account and product in scope:

  • Coverage: Which vendors, products, organizations, and billing scopes are actually ingested?
  • Freshness: How often can data be exported or retrieved, and how delayed can adjustments be? The cited documentation does not establish a shared refresh cadence.
  • Granularity: Does the source provide model, user, team, API key, or cost-center detail, or only a total?
  • Invoice fidelity: Can the reporting reconcile credits, discounts, taxes, and subscription charges to the actual billing statement?
  • Unit handling: Are native units preserved alongside any normalized summaries?
  • Access and auditability: What roles, API permissions, account plans, and version requirements apply, and can each figure be traced to its source?
  • Controls: Are budgets and alerts available at the vendor, and do they apply to the precise product and account being tracked?

If you use a cost-management platform, verify both that each intended source is ingested and that its billing amounts reconcile. Anthropic’s named destinations for Enterprise Analytics API data are examples for that particular source, not proof of all-vendor coverage.

Common reporting mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming one login covers every account: OpenAI explicitly says its API Usage Dashboard does not combine usage or cost across organizations, so inventory and collect each organization deliberately.
  • Adding unlike units together: A token, credit, seat, request, and currency amount are not interchangeable. Keep the native measure visible, even when a normalized cost summary is useful.
  • Calling estimated usage “billed spend”: Reconcile dashboard data against billing statements before labeling a number actual billed cost.
  • Over-attributing: If a vendor does not expose a model, user, or team field for a record, show that detail as unavailable rather than allocating it without evidence.
  • Assuming controls are universal: Availability depends on product, plan, role, and account configuration. Confirm the applicable source settings instead of relying on a portfolio chart to prevent overruns.
