Leonardo da Vinci is a Dimensional Intelligence mage whose main job in AFK Arena is crowd control. Art Attack paints enemies, enabling Work of Art to paralyze painted targets together; Renaissance Cannon adds area damage and a later stun, while his passive Evacuation helps him escape close-range damage. His signature item, furniture and engraving add damage, Energy, debuff and survivability effects, but the listed level-21 Art Attack damage is disputed: BlueStacks says 270%, while the fan-made AFK Global database says 190%.
Who is Leonardo da Vinci in AFK Arena?
BlueStacks describes Leonardo as an Intelligence-based mage and the third Dimensional hero who was not limited. The secondary, fan-made AFK Global database classifies him as an Ascended Dimensional Mage with the Control role, and likewise calls him the third non-limited Dimensional release. AFK Global says it is not affiliated with Lilith Games, so treat its database as a corroborating reference rather than an official source. BlueStacks’ Leonardo guide and AFK Global’s character page provide the detailed ability descriptions.
Leonardo was introduced in the historical 1.73 update. BlueStacks’ launch article placed his Bountiful Trials on September 29 at 12:00 a.m. UTC, a launch-era schedule rather than current availability information. The 1.73 patch article is useful for that context. AFK Global’s patch index lists version 1.203 dated September 21, 2026, showing that the game has continued to receive updates; it does not establish whether Leonardo’s kit changed or where he ranks competitively. AFK Global’s patch index is a fan-maintained record.

His kit has a clear setup-and-payoff sequence: Art Attack paints targets, and Work of Art uses those painted enemies to trigger group control. The cannon contributes area damage and, at a later upgrade, a stun. Evacuation is a defensive passive that also disrupts nearby enemies.

Art Attack: paint targets and weaken defenses
Leonardo throws paint at a random enemy, dealing damage and marking that target for 12 seconds. A painted enemy loses 10 Tenacity and 120 Dodge points. The skill prioritizes enemies that are not already painted, and its level-101 upgrade paints an additional enemy. Both cited references list 220% damage at level 181.
There is a source conflict for the level-21 upgrade: BlueStacks lists 270% damage, while AFK Global lists 190%. Neither figure should be treated as settled without checking the live in-game description or a current developer source.
Work of Art: turn paint coverage into paralysis
Work of Art deals 250% damage to enemies already splashed with paint, locks them in a portrait frame and paralyzes them for eight seconds. It can trigger only while painted enemies are on the battlefield, so Art Attack is the enabling skill rather than an optional extra. The listed upgrades raise Work of Art’s damage to 270% at level 81 and 300% at level 161.

Renaissance Cannon: area damage, then a stun
Leonardo creates a cannon that deals 330% damage to enemies within its scope. Its level-121 upgrade increases that damage to 350%; at level 201, enemies struck are stunned for three seconds.
Evacuation: escape, damage and Haste reduction
This passive activates when Leonardo takes qualifying close-range damage greater than 10% of his maximum health. He launches away from nearby enemies and lands in a safer area. The launch deals 220% damage to nearby enemies and reduces their Haste by 40 for five seconds. The guide lists a 10-second trigger interval; the level-141 upgrade raises the Haste reduction to 60, and the level-221 upgrade allows the effect to trigger every eight seconds.
What Leonardo’s signature item adds
Leonardo’s signature item is called The Creator. Its cannon bonus increases with distance between the cannon and its targets. BlueStacks lists up to 30% additional damage at base, 50% at +10 and 80% at +20. At +30, damage from the hit that triggers Evacuation cannot exceed 10% of Leonardo’s maximum health, according to both references.

AFK Global lists an additional +40 effect: the cannon’s stun lasts longer based on distance, up to five seconds. BlueStacks’ guide does not include this +40 detail, so confirm the current in-game item description before relying on it.

His furniture set is Artistic Inspiration. The cited guide gives two breakpoints:
- 3/9 Mythic pieces: Leonardo gains 10 Energy per second for every enemy currently painted.
- 9/9 Mythic pieces: Enemies struck by Work of Art take 45% more damage for eight seconds.
The 3/9 effect rewards maintaining paint coverage, while the 9/9 bonus adds a damage-amplification window after Work of Art connects. These descriptions explain the effects, not the resource cost or whether a breakpoint is worthwhile for every account.

What his engraving effects add
The cited guides describe two general engraving effects and one mode-specific effect. AFK Global labels the general bonuses E30 and E60:
- E30: Evacuation resets Renaissance Cannon’s cooldown.
- E60: Leonardo takes 50% less damage for five seconds after using Evacuation.
- E80: AFK Global also lists a bonus for named competitive modes; the available description does not establish a universal effect across all modes.
These are documented effects, not a blanket recommendation to invest to a particular engraving level. Check the live hero screen for the exact current wording and mode conditions.

How to use Leonardo’s control in a fight
Prioritize keeping Leonardo alive long enough to apply paint and trigger Work of Art. BlueStacks’ broad guidance emphasizes positioning and pairing his control with other crowd-control heroes; it does not document a tested lineup or establish a best team.

- Protect the setup: Art Attack must paint enemies before Work of Art can affect them, so losing Leonardo early can interrupt the control sequence.
- Value painted coverage: Work of Art requires painted enemies on the battlefield, and the 3/9 furniture effect also scales with the number of painted enemies.
- Use control as a chain, not a ranking claim: His paralysis, cannon stun and Haste reduction can complement other control effects, but the sources do not identify a universally strongest partner or current meta composition.
Because AFK Arena continues to receive updates, these mechanics should be checked against Leonardo’s live in-game skill, item and furniture descriptions before making a progression decision. The level-21 Art Attack damage conflict is the clearest reason to verify an exact number rather than rely on an older guide.
Is Leonardo’s guide still current?
The BlueStacks guide is a detailed but undated build reference, not a current competitive evaluation. The cited patch index records later game updates but does not say whether Leonardo’s abilities were changed. No independent performance measurements or current ranking are established by these references, so they support describing his mechanics and investment effects—not calling him top-tier or prescribing a best team.
AFK Global reproduces this character-story line: “A paper. A brush. A world!” It is an in-game line, not a quotation attributed to the historical Leonardo da Vinci.
