Kren is an Ascended Mauler Ranger who deals continuous damage through a long-range shell barrage, five backline mines, smoke-bomb support, and a knockback attack. BlueStacks’ January 2021 guide recommends using that knockback to push enemies toward his mines and suggests Arthur, Tidus, and Anoki as possible partners. Those team and investment tips are historical recommendations, not a current tier list.
Who is Kren in AFK Arena?
AFK Global classifies Kren as an Ascended Mauler of Agility type, with a continuous-damage role. The BlueStacks guide uses the same classification. AFK Arena’s version 1.56 patch notes, dated January 26, 2021, announced Kren as a new Mauler hero; the BlueStacks guide followed on January 27, 2021. Read the version 1.56 patch notes.

In the game’s fiction, Kren is a Durri who fights with a cannon called “Hot Stuff,” a grenade launcher called “Lady,” and explosives including mines and smoke bombs. The BlueStacks guide recounts his wanted status, meeting with Walker, and plan involving Saltwater Jail; these are character-lore details, not real-world history.

Bomb Voyage: sustained area damage
Kren retreats to the allied side, sets down Hot Stuff, and fires a shell every 0.5 seconds for 10 seconds instead of making normal attacks. Each shell deals 180% area damage in the listed base version; the reference lists increases to 200% at level 81 and 220% at level 161. He cannot move, be knocked back, or be launched airborne during the barrage. Shelling ends if no enemies remain on the enemy side.
Enshrouding Bomb: protection for the forward ally
Kren throws smoke at the allied hero farthest forward for eight seconds. The affected ally cannot be critically hit and gains Crit Rating. AFK Global lists an initial increase of 25 points, with further increases at levels 21, 101, and 181.
Old Pal: mines behind the enemy formation
At battle start, Kren signals a companion to place five landmines behind the enemy formation. Each mine deals 300% area damage and stuns enemies for five seconds in the reference’s listed base version. The reference also lists a damage increase at level 121 and a stacking Attack Rating increase at level 201.
Concussive Blast: a charge and knockback
Kren charges the enemy nearest the allied side, strikes it with Lady, and knocks it backward; the blast also knocks Kren backward. AFK Global lists 240% damage initially, with increases at levels 141 and 221.
How to use Kren’s mines and knockback together
Kren’s abilities invite a positioning tactic: Old Pal places mines behind the enemy formation, while Concussive Blast can knock an enemy backward. BlueStacks recommends trying to push enemies back onto the mines. Treat this as a possible combo rather than a guaranteed effect: formations, timing, enemy movement, and game updates can affect whether the mines connect.

Bomb Voyage adds sustained area damage, while Enshrouding Bomb protects the allied hero farthest forward. Together, these skills make Kren’s contribution depend on both his damage and the positions of allies and enemies during the fight.

Investment thresholds in the 2021 guide
BlueStacks recommends aiming for 9/9 furniture and a +20 signature item for late-game play. These are the guide’s historical targets; the available sources do not establish that they are optimal under current balance or for every game mode.
AFK Global lists the signature item as “Hot Stuff” & “Lady.” Its enhanced normal attacks add damage and knock enemies back with a stun, with effects changing at +10, +20, +30, and +40. The reference lists a 3/9 furniture bonus that expands Enshrouding Bomb’s area and reduces affected enemies’ Haste, and a 9/9 bonus that adds a smoke bomb to a congested enemy area. It also lists E30 as restoring 100 Energy whenever a mine explodes, and E60 as reducing damage received from enemies other than Kren’s target while he uses Concussive Blast.
Playing AFK Arena on PC with BlueStacks
The BlueStacks guide also promotes playing AFK Arena on PC with BlueStacks. That is a separate way to access the game, not a Kren-specific ability or a requirement for using him. The cited guide does not establish particular PC setup steps or current service terms.
