The KYY K1302R is a 15.6-inch 1080p portable monitor whose built-in rotating metal kickstand makes switching between portrait and landscape its standout feature. It is a practical second screen for writing, browsing, and keeping more windows visible away from a desk, with trade-offs that include a lower-than-4K resolution, small speakers, and no included protective cover.
What makes the KYY K1302R different?
Its kickstand is built into the back of the monitor rather than supplied as a separate accessory. It tilts backward by up to 65 degrees and lets the display sit in either portrait or landscape orientation. That flexibility is useful when a task benefits from a tall view, such as reading or working with a long document, or a wide view for side-by-side windows.
There is an inconsistency in the published review’s rotation figures: its prose describes a 90-degree rotation, while its product summary reports 180-degree left-right rotation. The reliable takeaway is that the stand supports both orientations; the exact rotation angle is not consistently stated.
How does the display look for everyday work?
The panel is 15.6 inches with 1080p resolution. The reviewer found text and ordinary work clear, but noted that it is less sharp than a 4K display and that colors look slightly faded beside a high-end monitor. For writing, browsing, and general multitasking, those limits may be acceptable; readers prioritizing fine detail or richer color should consider a higher-end display instead.
#1 Best Overall
- New Kickstand Design: KYY's new 2026 portable monitor designed with an upgraded integrated kickstand, this portable diaplay supports 65° forward/back tilt and 90° left/right rotation, allowing both horizontal and vertical placement. Compared to traditional stands, it offers greater stability and flexibility—perfect for multitasking, presentations, work, or entertainment anywhere
- One-Button Control: KYY portable screen features a single circular control button that manages all functions with four-direction presses (Up/Down/Left/Right). Quickly adjust brightness(-) and volume(+) without entering the OSD menu—ideal for watching movies or gaming. Simple operation saves time and improves user experience
- Ultra Portable and Space Saving: This travel monitor comes with a built-in stand, eliminating the need for an additional stand or case. The computer monitor helps improve work efficiency while saving space. At only 0.23 inches thick and weighing just 1.65 pounds, its compact and portable design easily fits into a backpack or suitcase, making it convenient to carry anywhere
- Seamless Landscape/Portrait Switch: This stand extends your second monitor's capabilities, allowing for easy adjustment between landscape and portrait modes. Switching between modes is as simple as rotating the stand – no need to unplug and reconnect cables, making it quick and convenient
- Premium All-Aluminum Alloy Body: Crafted entirely from high-quality aluminum alloy, including the stand, this laptop monitor is more durable than plastic models. The anodized surface resists scratches, fingerprints, and corrosion, while excellent thermal conductivity ensures efficient heat dissipation and longer device lifespan
What connections and audio does it offer?
The review reports two USB-C ports, one of which can be used for power, as well as HDMI connectivity. It says a Mac or iPad can connect over USB-C with the included cable, while HDMI may be useful with a game console. Compatibility and power requirements can vary by host device, so check the connection and power needs for the specific laptop, tablet, or console you plan to use.
Built-in speakers provide a convenient option for occasional video or spoken audio, but the reviewer describes them as small and recommends using the host device’s speakers or headphones for richer sound.

Is it easy to carry?
The product summary in Cult of Mac’s September 24, 2026 review lists the monitor at 0.2 inches thick and 1.65 pounds; the article’s prose rounds the weight to 1.7 pounds. These are figures reported by that review, not independent measurements. The review also says no protective cover is included, so plan to bring suitable protection when packing it. If buying a sleeve, check its internal dimensions against the monitor rather than assuming a generic case will fit.
Who should consider the KYY K1302R?
- Consider it if you want an affordable portable second screen and expect to switch between portrait and landscape without carrying a separate stand.
- Look elsewhere if 4K sharpness, more vivid color, stronger built-in sound, or an included protective cover is important to you.
- Check before buying if you plan to connect a particular host device: confirm it supports the monitor’s connection method and can provide the required power.
The review lists a $89.99 price and showed $79.99 on its page updated October 1, 2026. That shown price is time-sensitive and may no longer be available.
