The AEG IPE64551FB is a 60 cm, four-zone induction hob with bridgeable cooking areas on both sides. Its strongest practical advantages are flexible pan placement, touch-slide controls and Hob2Hood rangehood integration. The key checks before buying are whether its cut-out and electrical requirements suit your kitchen, whether your pans fit the zones, and what independent performance evidence is actually available.
What the AEG IPE64551FB offers
AEG Australia describes the IPE64551FB as a pure-black induction cooktop with four zones, touch-slide controls and DoubleBridge on both sides. DoubleBridge lets you link the two zones on either side for longer or larger cookware; linked zones share one temperature and timer setting. The manufacturer also lists Hob2Hood, which can control the fan and lights of a compatible rangehood, and OptiHeat, which indicates residual heat at three levels. These are manufacturer-described features, not independent performance findings. AEG Australia product page
The model support page also lists pause, a minute minder, an Öko timer and a function control lock, alongside the manual and installation documents. AEG Australia support page

Electrical compatibility needs the same care. The January 2024 manual lists a 7.35 kW induction load and a supply of 220–240 V / 400 V 2N, 50–60 Hz. Retail pages may round connected-load figures differently; do not treat those rounded figures as interchangeable with the manual’s rating-plate information. Check the rating plate and local installation instructions for your specific unit, and use a qualified electrician if the connection is uncertain. AEG user manual
Which pans work, and how large can they be?
As an induction hob, it requires cookware with an induction-compatible base. The manual specifies cookware diameters of 125–180 mm for each listed zone. In Bridge mode, it gives a minimum cookware size of 140 × 280 mm and a maximum of 210 × 330 mm. Check both the pan’s base compatibility and its dimensions; a pan that is induction-ready may still be a poor size match for a zone. AEG user manual

- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
AEG advises centering cookware and using pans no larger than the listed diameter for optimal results. It also notes that actual zone power can vary somewhat with cookware material and dimensions.

What does the independent review establish?
CHOICE has a listing titled “AEG IPE64551FB review.” Its publicly visible information identifies a four-zone, 60 cm frameless cooktop with touch control and two flexi zones or four large zones; the displayed test-year field says “2023 or earlier.” CHOICE’s expert rating and detailed cooking, ease-of-use, heat-control and boil-time results are members-only on that page, so its accessible listing does not establish a pass/fail verdict or a specific performance score. Who should consider it?
The IPE64551FB is worth shortlisting if you want a 60 cm induction hob with four zones, the option to bridge zones on either side, and compatible-rangehood control. It is a weaker choice if your existing cut-out or electrical supply does not match the unit’s requirements, or if your cookware falls outside the manual’s stated size ranges. Because the publicly accessible CHOICE page does not show its detailed test results, base any performance comparison on dated results you can actually inspect rather than an assumed rating.
