PLANADVISER’s October 1, 2026 roundup reports four adviser or team affiliations and one wealth-management acquisition: Lakewood Wealth Management joined LPL Financial, two teams joined OnePoint BFG Wealth Partners, Heritage Financial launched through Carson Group, Ecclesiastes Wealth Partners joined Kestra Financial, and Waverly Advisors acquired Heartwood Wealth Advisors. These are individual firm developments, not a measure of overall advisory M&A activity.

PLANADVISER’s figures are not directly comparable: the roundup variously reports AUM, assets served, client assets, and advisory, brokerage, and retirement-plan assets. Some figures have no as-of date, and two dates lack a stated year. Treat them as deal-specific descriptions rather than a standardized ranking.
Lakewood Wealth Management advisers join LPL Financial
Harrison Kennard, Charles Dobben, and Justin Pandy moved Lakewood Wealth Management from Cambridge to LPL Financial LLC’s broker/dealer and registered investment adviser platforms. The team is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and provides comprehensive planning that includes tax planning, estate planning, and wealth management strategies.

The announcement cited LPL’s resources and technology, as well as its “commitment to adviser independence,” as reasons for the move.

The roundup describes LPL as supporting more than 32,000 financial advisers and servicing and custoding approximately $2.6 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets. Those are figures reported in the October 1 roundup, not independently refreshed current totals.
Two teams join OnePoint BFG Wealth Partners
OnePoint BFG added two teams with approximately $235 million in combined AUM, according to PLANADVISER. Their reported individual assets and dates are not fully aligned:

- Theodore Kuczarski: Based in Tampa, he brought $85 million in AUM as of December 31, 2025. He has nearly 20 years of experience in financial planning and wealth management, including retirement, tax efficiency, insurance, and estate planning.
- Mark Hoffman: He joined the Atlanta office from Lanier Asset Management with $150 million in AUM as of June 30. The roundup does not specify the year for that date.
OnePoint BFG itself was reported to have more than $18 billion in AUM as of June 30, also without a year specified. Do not treat that date as a confirmed 2026 measurement.

Nikki Lude and Ciara Stewart joined Carson Group’s independent adviser channel from Commonwealth Financial Services to launch Heritage Financial & Investment Services. The women-led team serves approximately $120 million and works with families in southeastern Ohio, including retirees, pre-retirees, small-business owners, and women navigating major life transitions. The roundup gives no as-of date for the $120 million figure.

The advisers cited Carson’s “transparent approach,” investment flexibility, back-office support, tax-planning resources, and technology. Carson Group was described as having more than $65 billion in AUM; PLANADVISER did not provide an as-of date for that figure.
Ecclesiastes Wealth Partners joins Kestra Financial
The Texas-based Ecclesiastes Wealth Partners joined Kestra Financial’s network. Its professionals oversee approximately $550 million in client assets and focus on comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and multigenerational wealth planning. The roundup does not give a measurement date for those assets.

The stated benefits of the Kestra partnership include expanded wealth-management platform capabilities, integrated technology, business-consulting resources, and marketing support.
Waverly Advisors acquires Heartwood Wealth Advisors
Waverly Advisors acquired Richmond-based Heartwood Wealth Advisors in a transaction that closed September 25, 2026. Heartwood had approximately $1.7 billion in AUM as of September 22. Financial and legal terms were not disclosed, and Heartwood’s leadership and nine-person team were to join Waverly.

PLANADVISER reported that Waverly managed approximately $36.5 billion in assets as of September 25, 2026. The firm serves high-net-worth individuals and families, corporate retirement plans, and institutional clients.
What these figures do—and do not—show
The roundup brings together different types of moves: adviser and team affiliations, a new practice launch, and an acquisition. It does not establish a broader advisory M&A trend. Asset descriptions use different measures and dates, and the figures should be read only in the context of the specific firms and announcements described above.
