On most Samsung Galaxy phones, open Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts > Add account, choose your provider, and complete its sign-in prompts. To use Samsung Email instead, add the account inside the Email app. The exact screens can differ by Galaxy model, software version, and wireless carrier.
Choose where you want to read your email
Adding a Google account through Settings makes it available to Google apps such as Gmail. If you want to read accounts together in Samsung Email, add them in that app instead. Samsung Email documents automatic setup for Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft accounts; other providers may require manual settings. Samsung’s account guide and Samsung’s Email setup guide describe these options.
Add an account through Settings
- Open Settings.
- Tap Accounts and backup.
- Tap Manage accounts.
- Tap Add account.
- Choose the provider and follow the sign-in prompts. Some providers may open a browser sign-in page or ask you to grant access.
This is the direct route when you want to add a Google account for Gmail or other Google services. Labels and available options may vary by device and software version.

Add an account in Samsung Email
Set up a supported provider
- Open Email (Samsung Email) and select your provider.
- Enter your account information and complete any sign-in, security, or privacy prompts shown by the provider.
- To add another account later, open Email settings and tap + Add account.
Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft accounts can be linked automatically according to Samsung’s setup guidance, but authentication steps depend on the provider and the screens currently shown by the app.

Install the app if it is missing
Samsung says Samsung Email can be downloaded from Galaxy Store or Google Play Store. You can also install your email provider’s app if you prefer to manage that account there.
Set up a provider that is not listed
If Samsung Email does not recognize the provider, choose Other, enter the email address and account information, then select Manual setup. Choose the account type and enter the incoming and outgoing server details. Samsung notes that some recognized providers fill these fields automatically; for exact server names, ports, and security settings, ask your email provider or your organization’s administrator.
