The Adafruit Feather RP2350 with HSTX is already a marketed board, not an upcoming launch. Its HSTX port exposes the RP2350’s dedicated high-speed transmit peripheral through a 22-pin FPC connector, making it possible to build DVI-style display projects with an adapter and compatible cable.

What is the Feather RP2350 with HSTX?

It is a compact, Feather-format development board based on Raspberry Pi’s RP2350 microcontroller. Adafruit’s current product listing specifies a dual-core processor running at 150 MHz, 520 KB of SRAM, and 8 MB of SPI flash. The board also includes USB-C, STEMMA QT, and SWD debug access, alongside compatibility with the Feather form factor and ecosystem. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance benchmarks. Adafruit product listing

What is the HSTX port for?

HSTX means High Speed Transmit. It is a built-in RP2350 peripheral that can transmit differential data across four lanes, including signals used for DVI-style display output. The Feather exposes HSTX through an end-mounted 22-pin FPC connector; the connector also carries some GPIO, power, and ground. Adafruit pinout guide

The HSTX signals use GPIO12–19. Those pins can have alternate peripheral functions, so check the board’s pinout before assigning them to another interface. Using HSTX may affect which of those pins are available for other project hardware.

Can the Feather RP2350 output to an HDMI display?

Yes, with the documented HSTX-to-DVI adapter and appropriate software. The adapter is designed to connect to HDMI displays; it does not mean the Feather has a standard HDMI port. Adafruit’s stated hookup is a 22-pin FPC cable between the Feather and the adapter, followed by loading DVI output code. Adafruit RP2350 22-pin FPC HSTX-to-DVI adapter

Adafruit documents a CircuitPython example mode of 320×240 pixels at 16-bit color, pixel-doubled to 640×480. Treat that as a specific supported example, not a guarantee that all resolutions, displays, or software stacks will work. The available information does not establish independent display-performance comparisons.

What cable does the RP2350 HSTX adapter use?

The connection uses a 22-pin, 0.5 mm pitch FPC flex cable. Adafruit’s launch video identifies cable lengths of 5 cm, 10 cm, and 20 cm for DSI, CSI, or HSTX connections. Before choosing one, verify that its length and connector orientation suit both the adapter and your enclosure. Adafruit launch video

What is the difference between the Feather RP2350 versions?

The listing distinguishes the standard board from a version with 8 MB of PSRAM installed. The PSRAM option was announced on January 8, 2025; it is separate from the board’s specified 8 MB of SPI flash. Check the selected product option rather than assuming PSRAM is included. Is the Feather RP2350 with HSTX available now?

Yes. The “prepares to launch” framing is historical: Adafruit’s launch video is dated September 12, 2024, and its Feather guide was published September 23, 2024. The guide lists a major update on January 14, 2025, and a later edit date of August 18, 2026; the current product listing presents the board as available for purchase.
