ACMER says its X1 will come in a 1250 × 2450 mm format—roughly the dimensions of a standard 4 × 8-foot plywood sheet—and markets that size for full-sheet processing. That establishes the machine’s announced work-area size, not that it has independently demonstrated cutting every plywood grade or thickness.
What ACMER announced about full-sheet plywood
ACMER announced the X1 on September 2, 2025, describing three available formats: 800 × 800 mm, 1250 × 1250 mm, and 1250 × 2450 mm. The company specifically says the largest format is intended for “full-sheet processing,” as well as wall art, large signage, and doors. The 1250 × 2450 mm bed is approximately 4 × 8 feet, the common nominal size of a full plywood sheet.
So the headline is grounded in the X1’s announced bed dimensions and ACMER’s intended-use description. It is not a published plywood-cutting test. A sheet fitting within the work area does not by itself establish whether a particular plywood panel can be cut through, how long that would take, or whether the cut will meet a project’s quality requirements.
What kind of machine is the X1?
ACMER describes the X1 as a 3-in-1 platform combining a 120W diode laser, a 4W infrared (IR) laser, and a CNC router system. It uses quick-swap modular heads, including a CNC milling head, so it is not simply a large laser engraver. The announced combination offers laser and CNC operations in one machine, with the relevant head selected for the job.

The company also says the X1 has liquid cooling designed to avoid thermal roll-off during long sessions, and claims support for more than 500 material types. Those are manufacturer claims; the announcement does not provide independent performance results for them.
What ACMER has and has not established about plywood cutting
The X1 announcement establishes the largest announced work area and ACMER’s stated full-sheet use case. It does not give enough detail to predict plywood-cutting performance for a specific project.

- Published for X1: a 1250 × 2450 mm format, a 120W diode laser, a 4W IR laser, a CNC router system, quick-swap heads, and liquid cooling described as a way to manage long sessions.
- Not stated in the available X1 announcement: maximum plywood thickness, measured cut time, kerf, number of passes, feed rate, power draw, or dust-extraction requirements.
- Not established: independent test results showing that the X1 cuts through a full sheet of a particular plywood grade or thickness.
Plywood is not a single uniform material, so a full-sheet bed size should not be read as a guarantee that every panel will cut successfully. Before choosing the X1 for a cut-through job, ask ACMER for a supported thickness and settings for the exact plywood type, and confirm the machine’s required extraction and operating setup.

|---|---|---|---|
| ACMER X1 | Three formats: 800 × 800 mm, 1250 × 1250 mm, and 1250 × 2450 mm; ACMER markets the largest for full-sheet processing. | 120W diode laser and 4W IR laser; plywood thickness, cut speed, kerf, and pass count not stated in ACMER’s announcement. | Full CNC router system, quick-swap modular heads, and liquid cooling. Price at announcement: $3,199 MSRP, with a $2,299 early-bird crowdfunding price. |
| ACMER P2 | 420 × 400 mm for the 20W configuration listed on ACMER’s page. | 20W and 33W variants; ACMER lists up to 25 mm plywood cutting for the 20W configuration and says optional 33W and 1064 nm modules are available. | ACMER documents a safety key, emergency stop, and tilt detection that stops the machine when tilt exceeds 15 degrees. |
