Indiana’s response—and where it fell short
Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 23 points, though she made 7 of 23 shots. Aliyah Boston recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds. Caitlin Clark scored 18, including 11 in the first quarter and seven after that, according to the AP account.
The Fever’s late push made the finish close, but they could not erase the Aces’ third-quarter cushion. Clark credited Las Vegas after the game: “I thought they played well. I thought they were ready to go. That’s what championship teams do.”

The victory sent the Aces into the semifinals, where their opponent was to be the winner of the Golden State Valkyries–Dallas Wings series. The AP report said that series would be decided Friday night in San Francisco; that was the bracket situation immediately after Game 3, not a current matchup update.

Las Vegas had won three of the previous four WNBA titles, according to the AP report, and this was the second consecutive year it ended Indiana’s season. The previous year’s semifinal series lasted five games and ended with an Aces overtime win.
Wilson also addressed a verbal exchange with a Fever fan two nights earlier, saying she chose to put it behind her and focus on the game. “I prayed a lot. I cried a lot,” she said.
