Acer announced two Predator QD-OLED gaming monitors on March 31, 2025: the 31.5-inch Predator X32 X2, with 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, and the 26.5-inch Predator X27U X1, with 1440p resolution and up to 240Hz. Both advertise 0.03ms GTG response times and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. The key choice is screen detail and size versus the lower rendering load of 1440p.
What Acer announced

Which model makes more sense?
Choose the X32 X2 for 4K detail and a larger display
The X32 X2’s 31.5-inch 4K panel provides more pixels and a larger viewing area than the X27U X1. That makes it the detail-first option for games and other content that benefit from UHD resolution. Rendering at 4K also places a greater demand on a gaming PC than rendering at 1440p, particularly when aiming for high frame rates. Acer specifies 240Hz over HDMI and DisplayPort, but reaching high frame rates in demanding games depends on the system and game settings.
#1 Best Overall
- OLED Makes All The Difference: With a display of these mammoth-like proportions, everything must look good. The WQHD quantum dot OLED display with true 10Bit is obligated to offer stunning contrast, cinematic color. Image retention-refresh keeps the images from sticking.
- AMD FreeSync Premium Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync Premium, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provides the smoothest gaming experience.
- Fast and Furious: If you want seamless gameplay at ridiculous levels of speed, you’ve come to the right place. With an 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms (G to G) response time, your sessions will be fluid, unbroken and unmatched – with little to no ghosting.
- Brilliant Colors: With the DCI-P3 99% color gamut, Delta E<2, and HDR10, colors are practically bursting out of the screen. Enjoy the best imagery your games have to offer!
- Center of Vision: At 26.5-inches, the X27U is directly in your field of view. Considered a hallmark of eSports tournaments, this is the perfect size to gain an edge over your opponents. The addition of a ZeroFrame design also removes the bezels – giving you have even more visibly over every match and every movement your rivals make.
Choose the X27U X1 for 1440p at up to 240Hz
The X27U X1 is smaller and uses 2560 × 1440 resolution. Its lower pixel count generally makes 240 frames per second less demanding to render than 4K at the same frame rate, although actual performance varies with the game and hardware. It retains the advertised 0.03ms GTG response time, FreeSync Premium Pro, and the same stated contrast and color-gamut figures as the X32 X2.
Check the connection and refresh-rate details
If you need a specific port configuration, the announcement is more explicit for the X32 X2: it lists two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4. For the X27U X1, Acer says HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort but does not give a port count or DisplayPort version in that announcement. The X27U X1 also lists DisplayPort Dynamic Refresh Rate switching to 60Hz; Acer specifies 240Hz over HDMI and DisplayPort for the X32 X2.

For example, the X32 X3 was announced with a 4K 240Hz mode and a 1080p 480Hz Dynamic Frequency and Resolution mode; it is not the X32 X2. Acer’s May 2024 announcement.
