Yes—but only the Acer Swift Air 16 with the WUXGA IPS screen. Acer lists that SFA16-61M configuration at 0.99 kg (2.18 lb), compared with 1.23 kg (2.7 lb) for the 13-inch MacBook Air on Apple’s current technical-specifications page. That is a 0.24 kg (about 0.53 lb) difference based on the manufacturers’ published figures, not independent weigh-ins. The Swift Air 16’s WQXGA+ AMOLED version is heavier, at 1.1 kg (2.43 lb), though still lighter than the Apple figure.
How much does each Acer Swift Air 16 configuration weigh?
Acer announced the 16-inch Swift Air 16 SFA16-61M on September 3, 2025, with two display options. The panel choice affects weight as well as resolution and refresh rate.
| Swift Air 16 configuration | Display | Acer-listed weight | Difference from Apple’s current 1.23 kg figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| WUXGA IPS | 16-inch, 1920 × 1200, 60 Hz | 0.99 kg (2.18 lb) | 0.24 kg (about 0.53 lb) lighter |
| WQXGA+ AMOLED | 16-inch, 2880 × 1800, 120 Hz | 1.1 kg (2.43 lb) | 0.13 kg (about 0.29 lb) lighter |
The Apple comparison uses the 1.23 kg (2.7 lb) weight on Apple’s current MacBook Air technical specifications page for the 13-inch model. Apple’s separate support page for the 2025 M4 13-inch MacBook Air lists 1.24 kg (2.7 lb), so the exact arithmetic gap depends on which Apple reference is used. Both comparisons rely on published specifications, not a controlled comparison of retail units.
Acer’s listed Swift dimensions are 358.9 × 239.7 mm for both panels; the IPS configuration is 15.9 mm thick and the AMOLED version is 16.5 mm thick. Acer notes that specifications can vary by model or region, and its US product page describes the IPS version as under 1 kg and the AMOLED version as under 1.1 kg. Check the exact SKU when shopping.

Is the Swift Air 16 OLED model under 1 kg?
No. Acer lists the WQXGA+ AMOLED configuration at 1.1 kg (2.43 lb), not under 1 kg. The sub-1-kg claim applies to the WUXGA IPS model, listed at 0.99 kg (2.18 lb).
The AMOLED option trades that extra weight for a higher-resolution, faster-refresh display: 2880 × 1800 at 120 Hz, with 400-nit peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 support in Acer’s announcement. The IPS option is 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz. Apple’s 2025 M4 13-inch MacBook Air has a 13.6-inch 2560 × 1664 IPS Liquid Retina display, according to Apple Support. The screen sizes and panel specifications are different, so weight alone does not describe which laptop is a better fit.

What else differs from a 13-inch MacBook Air?
The Swift Air 16 is a larger Windows laptop, not a direct size-for-size counterpart to the 13-inch MacBook Air. Acer announced Windows 11 Home and AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processor options, up to Ryzen AI 7 350, with integrated Radeon 860M, 840M, or 820M graphics depending on configuration. It lists up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 memory onboard and up to a 1 TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 SSD. Because the memory is onboard, Acer’s specifications do not indicate a user-upgrade path for RAM.

Acer lists a 50 Wh battery and claims up to 13 hours of video playback. The company cautions that actual battery life varies with configuration, software, settings, operating conditions, and features used. For comparison, Apple lists up to 18 hours of video streaming and a 53.8 Wh battery for the 2025 M4 13-inch MacBook Air. Those are manufacturer claims with conditions not established as identical, so they should not be read as results from a head-to-head battery test.
