Acer’s flagship Predator laptops announced for 2025 are the 16-inch Predator Helios 16 AI (PH16-73) and 18-inch Predator Helios 18 AI (PH18-73). Both were listed with options up to Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. Those are configuration ceilings—not specifications guaranteed on every model or in every region.
Which Acer Predator laptops have RTX 50 GPUs and Arrow Lake-HX?
Acer introduced the Predator Helios 16 AI and Helios 18 AI in its CES 2025 lineup. The processor sometimes described as Arrow Lake-HX is identified in Acer’s announcement by its product name, Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX. Acer listed NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs, with the RTX 5090 as the highest option for both laptops. Acer’s announcement is dated January 7, 2025, with a January 6 Las Vegas dateline.
Acer’s January 2025 announcement also introduced the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI. In a separate February announcement, it expanded the Neo line with the Helios Neo 16 AI and Helios Neo 18 AI, listing up to Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU. The Neo laptops are a separate, more price-accessible tier—not alternate names for the flagship Helios 16 AI and 18 AI. Acer’s Neo announcement was published February 7, 2025.

Acer’s CES 2025 specification sheet gives maximum listed configurations, rather than a promise that every regional SKU will include them. The figures below are Acer’s published ceilings and chassis details, not independent test results. Acer’s US Helios 16 AI page also describes options up to Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, with an OLED display option reaching 240Hz.

Values are from Acer’s CES 2025 specification sheet, dated January 6, 2025. Acer says specifications may vary by model or region and that all models are subject to availability. Exact screen resolution, GPU, memory, storage and local availability therefore need to be checked against the specific SKU being sold.
What do the differences mean for a buyer?
Helios 16 AI: a smaller chassis and high-refresh OLED option
The 16-inch model is the lighter of the two in Acer’s listed figures. Its headline display option is a 16:10 OLED panel at WQXGA resolution and up to 240Hz. That combination may suit someone prioritizing a smaller laptop and a high refresh rate, but Acer’s specification sheet does not establish gaming frame rates, panel response in practice, or battery runtime.

Helios 18 AI: more screen area and higher listed capacity ceilings
The 18-inch model has a larger screen and a Mini LED option, with 4K listed in Acer’s sheet. Its maximum listed memory and storage—192GB and 6TB—are higher than the 16-inch model’s 64GB and 4TB. The trade-offs shown in Acer’s figures are a heavier chassis and a larger power adapter. The 99Wh battery capacity is a specification, not a measurement of how long the laptop lasts away from an outlet.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDoes every configuration include an RTX 5090?
No. “Up to RTX 5090 Laptop GPU” means the 5090 is the maximum option Acer listed, not the standard GPU in every Helios 16 AI or 18 AI. Acer announced the series with RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs; the exact GPU depends on the model and regional configuration. Check the full model number and seller’s specification before purchase, rather than relying only on the Helios family name.

The same qualification applies to the processor and other maximums: Core Ultra 9 275HX, 64GB or 192GB memory, and 4TB or 6TB storage are ceilings in the specification sheet. They do not establish what a particular retailer’s SKU contains.

Acer positioned the Helios 16 AI as a more portable mid-sized system and the Helios 18 AI as a larger-screen option for desktop-style use. Those are the manufacturer’s descriptions. The announcement and specification sheet do not provide independent benchmark results, comparative frame rates, sustained-performance measurements, noise levels, thermal testing, battery-runtime tests, or current street prices. They are not enough to determine which laptop is faster in real games or better value at a given price.
Acer also cited sixth-generation AeroBlade 3D fan blades measuring 0.05mm thick. That is a manufacturer specification, not evidence by itself of quieter operation or improved gaming performance. The announcement said Windows 11 Predator gaming laptops ship with three months of PC Game Pass; current regional eligibility and redemption terms were not established in that announcement.

Quick Recap
What to verify before choosing a model
- Confirm the complete SKU and the installed processor and RTX 50 Laptop GPU; do not assume a listing’s “RTX 5090” claim applies to every Helios configuration.
- Check the panel’s actual type, resolution and refresh rate for that SKU. The OLED 240Hz and Mini LED/4K descriptions are options in Acer’s published specifications.
- Compare the installed memory and storage with your needs. Acer’s figures are maximum listed capacities, not a guarantee for each sale configuration.
- Check the laptop’s weight, included power adapter and local availability if you expect to move it regularly.
- For performance, noise, thermals, battery life and value, look for independent tests of the exact configuration you are considering; Acer’s announcement does not measure those outcomes.
