PC Gamer reported on October 6, 2026, that Amazon listed an Acer Nitro V 16 gaming laptop with an RTX 5070 for $1,199.99, down from $1,299.99. That is a dated deal report—not confirmation the offer is still available. Check the current listing, seller, stock, shipping, and exact configuration before buying.
What the reported $1,199.99 deal includes
The configuration described by PC Gamer pairs an Nvidia RTX 5070 limited to 85 W with an Intel Core 7 240H. It has a 16-inch display with 1200p resolution and a 180 Hz refresh rate, 16 GB of DDR5 memory, and a 512 GB SSD.
The $1,199.99 price, reduced from $1,299.99, was reported by PC Gamer on October 6, 2026; neither price is independently verified as current. The report does not establish a broader market comparison or provide benchmark results for this exact configuration.
What to check before you buy
- Current price and seller: Confirm the Amazon listing still shows the reported configuration and check who is selling it, whether it is in stock, and the shipping cost and timing. The report does not establish any of those current listing details.
- GPU power limit: The laptop’s RTX 5070 is specified at 85 W. The GPU name alone does not describe the power limit, so compare that specification when evaluating other RTX 5070 laptops.
- Screen: The reported 1200p resolution and 180 Hz refresh rate are the display specifications. PC Gamer considered the resolution a plausible match for this laptop GPU; that is an assessment, not an independent performance test.
- Memory and storage: The reported model has 16 GB DDR5 and a 512 GB SSD. Consider how many large games you keep installed at once before deciding whether that capacity works for you.
- Exact model: Verify the product listing’s precise configuration before checkout; the deal report does not establish an exact SKU.
Is the 512 GB SSD enough?
It may be workable if you rotate games or keep a modest installed library, but it leaves less room for a large collection of games and other files. PC Gamer suggested adding another SSD later, but did not verify this laptop’s expansion layout or identify a compatible drive. Confirm the exact SKU’s available storage slots and drive compatibility before planning an upgrade.

What the deal report does—and does not—establish
PC Gamer Hardware Writer Andy Edser called it “the best deal I’ve found so far this Prime Day” in the October 6, 2026 article, while hoping it would remain available. That was his time-specific assessment, not a guarantee of continued stock or a claim that the laptop is the best option for every buyer.
The report covers one product configuration and does not provide a model-to-model comparison, independent benchmark figures, or confirmation of today’s Amazon price and availability. Treat it as a lead to verify, not a live-price promise.
