The Acer monitor in the March 3, 2026 deal report was the Nitro EI491CUR W3, a 49-inch, 240Hz ultrawide. HotHardware reported an Amazon price of $599.99 that day, but that was a dated deal—not a verified current offer or an established all-time low. Its unusually wide 5120 × 1440 screen and high refresh rate make it worth considering if you want a single-display alternative to a multi-monitor setup; whether it is a good buy now depends on the price and your preference for VA versus OLED.
Which Acer monitor was listed for $599?
The deal referred to the Acer Nitro EI491CUR W3, part number UM.SE1AA.301, according to Acer’s US product specifications. HotHardware reported on March 3, 2026, that Amazon was offering it for $599.99, describing that price as 25% off and $200 below MSRP. Those figures describe the report at that time, not today’s Amazon price or stock.
The headline’s “all-time low” wording is not substantiated by an independent price-history dataset in the available evidence. Acer’s own US Store listing showed $799.99 and out of stock when accessed for this article; that snapshot does not confirm what Amazon charges now.
What do you get for the money?
Acer lists a 49-inch, 32:9 display with 5120 × 1440 resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms GTG response time, and AMD FreeSync. In practical terms, the screen is exceptionally wide and has the vertical resolution of a 1440p display. The 240Hz specification may appeal to players who prioritize a high refresh rate, but actual performance also depends on the computer, game, and connection.
#1 Best Overall
- Vibrant Images: Explore games like never before on this immense 49” VA display. Expand your field of view to encompass large action sequences and wide vistas in glorious DQHD. Even with the increased screen size, details stay sharp, and colors remain accurate with 5120 x 1440 resolution.
- AMD FreeSync Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provides the smoothest gaming experience.
- Quick Refresh Rate: Experience ultra-smooth, lag-free gameplay with faster frame rendering with up to 120Hz rapid refresh rate. More frames per second means better 2D action scenes and outstanding image fluidity.
- Responsive!!: Rapid 3ms response time reduces deviations in transition time to deliver high-quality moving images bringing immersive graphics to your movies and games.
- Curved Screen: The 1000R curved 32:9 display wraps you in a world of entertainment with every corner of the screen at the same distance from your eyes for a uniform viewing experience without blind spots. Tilt the screen -5 to 20 degrees and adjust the height 5.11 inches for the most comfortable view.
- Panel: HotHardware describes the monitor as VA. It is not an OLED panel.
- Connections: Acer lists two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, a headphone connection, and an audio line-out.
- Mounting: Acer lists VESA compatibility. Its US Store page gives an approximate weight of 22 lb with the stand.
HotHardware also says the Nitro does not support HDR visuals and is not mini LED. Those are descriptions in the deal report, rather than findings from an independent test here. The available specifications do not establish measured brightness, contrast, color accuracy, or gaming latency beyond Acer’s stated response-time figure.
Is the Nitro EI491CUR W3 worth buying at $599?
At the historical $599.99 price, the strongest case was the combination of a 49-inch 5120 × 1440 screen and 240Hz refresh rate for less than the OLED comparison price cited in the same report. That does not make the Nitro equivalent to an OLED monitor: the deal report identifies its panel as VA, while the comparison model is QD-OLED. Choose based on the panel type and display characteristics you want, not screen size and refresh rate alone.

HotHardware quoted $499.99 for a 120Hz version of the Acer monitor and $899.99 for Samsung’s 49-inch Odyssey G93SC QD-OLED in its March 3, 2026 report. These are contemporaneous historical comparison prices, not confirmed offers today. Acer’s separate Predator X49 X is another 49-inch, 5120 × 1440, 240Hz model; Acer’s US Store showed it at $999.99, reduced from $1,299.99, and in stock when accessed. It is a different product, not the Nitro deal model.

For a current purchase decision, confirm the exact model number and compare the checkout price, return window, and warranty terms on the seller’s listing. If the Nitro is substantially above the reported $599.99, the historical deal alone is not a reason to buy at the higher price.

- WRAP YOURSELF IN GREATER DETAIL: Immerse yourself in a panoramic gaming experience with a 1000R curved display. This ultra-wide 32:9 screen, equivalent to two side-by-side 16:9 monitors, delivers a full view of your enemies so you can stay one step ahead.

- MINIMIZED LAG FOR MORE WINS: Rank up in fast-paced games with ease.¹ The 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time reduce lag and capture your moves, so you can game with ultra-smooth action.
- GET SMOOTH ACTION WITHOUT DISRUPTION: Keep your fast-action games fluid with variable refresh rate (VRR) and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.² The synced GPU and panel reduce choppiness, screen lag, and image tears.
- SIDE-BY-SIDE GAMEPLAY IN ONE SCREEN: Use your screen to its maximum potential with a split screen that lets you team up with friends in a whole new way.
Will a 49-inch 32:9 monitor fit your setup?
Measure your desk and viewing distance before ordering: a 49-inch 32:9 display takes up considerably more horizontal space than a conventional widescreen monitor. The extra width can be useful for games and side-by-side windows, but some games and video sources may not use the full aspect ratio as intended. Check the specific games and applications that matter to you.
If you plan to use a monitor arm, confirm the monitor’s VESA mounting pattern and that the arm supports the monitor’s weight. Acer’s approximate 22 lb figure includes the stand; do not use it as a substitute for checking the weight and mounting requirements for the display itself.
