Chrome Unboxed reported on March 25, 2026, that Best Buy was selling the 2024-generation Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 for $529, $270 below a stated $799 MSRP. That is a dated deal report—not confirmation of a live offer on October 8, 2026. Check Best Buy’s current listing, price, stock and exact configuration before buying.
What the $270-off report actually establishes
Chrome Unboxed described the $529 Best Buy price as a new all-time low in its March 25, 2026 article. The outlet’s wording is not an independently verified price-history result, and the report does not establish whether the offer is still available. Its founder, Robby Payne, wrote at the time, “We don’t know how long this sale will last, so if you’ve been waiting for a flagship at a mid-range price, this is the time to snap it up.” That was promotional commentary about the offer then, not evidence of today’s price or inventory. Read Chrome Unboxed’s deal report.
Which Spin 714 the deal article describes
The deal report identifies the U.S. offer as the 2024-generation Chromebook Plus Spin 714 with an Intel Core Ultra 5 115U. It describes a 14-inch 16:10 WUXGA (1920 × 1200) touchscreen and a 360-degree hinge, making it a convertible Chromebook for laptop or tablet-style use. The article also lists a QHD 1440p webcam, aluminum construction, a MIL-STD-810H-tested chassis, a Gorilla Glass touchpad, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, HDMI and USB-A. These are details attributed to Chrome Unboxed’s report, not a verified specification sheet for a currently available Best Buy SKU.

Why Acer’s Singapore listings do not confirm the U.S. deal SKU
Acer’s Singapore store lists two Chromebook Plus Spin 714 variants, CP714-1HN-51HC and CP714-1HN-581A. Their listed specifications include ChromeOS, a 14-inch 16:10 WUXGA IPS multitouch display, Core Ultra 5 125U, 8GB LPDDR5X memory, a 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, Intel graphics, a QHD camera, fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 6E, and a listed weight of 1.4 kg. Acer also lists MIL-STD 810H certification and a dockable Acer USI active stylus for those regional variants. See Acer Singapore’s Spin 714 listings.
#1 Best Overall
- Intel Core Ultra 5 115U processor with integrated Intel Graphics and AI acceleration
Those are Singapore configurations, and their Core Ultra 5 125U specification differs from the 115U named in the U.S. deal report. They do not establish the U.S. offer’s RAM, storage, included stylus, weight, or warranty coverage. A stylus being listed with Singapore models also does not confirm that one is included with, or compatible with, a particular U.S. SKU.
What to check before buying
- Confirm the offer: Open the current Best Buy listing and verify that the price and stock are live. The March 25 report does not verify an October 2026 offer.
- Match the SKU and processor: Check the exact model number and whether the listing identifies the Core Ultra 5 115U configuration described by Chrome Unboxed.
- Check memory and storage: Confirm the specific unit’s RAM and SSD capacity on the retailer listing; the deal report does not establish those details.
- Verify stylus details: Look for explicit confirmation of included stylus and compatibility for that exact U.S. model before treating Acer’s Singapore stylus information as applicable.
- Review purchase terms: Confirm the warranty region, return window and any other retailer terms on the live listing.
Is the reported deal worth pursuing?
The reported $529 price may be compelling against the stated $799 MSRP if the same configuration is still offered at that price. But the available evidence supports only a historical report, not a current bargain or a complete comparison with other Chromebooks. Judge the live listing by its exact SKU and configuration, then weigh the verified price against the features you need.
