Acer’s 2024 Aspire Vero 16 (model AV16-51P) paired Windows 11 with Intel Core Ultra options, a 16-inch WUXGA screen and a chassis Acer says contains more than 60% recycled plastic. The same launch introduced the everyday-use Aspire Go 14 and Go 15. These are 2024 launch specifications and prices, not a statement of current stock or value.
Which Acer laptops does this launch cover?
The central product is the Aspire Vero 16 AV16-51P. Acer announced it in January 2024 alongside the first Aspire Go 14 and Aspire Go 15 models. Do not confuse this laptop with the newer Vero generation announced in September 2026 under model identifiers V16-I71 and V16-I71T; Acer describes that generation with different materials and repairability features.

Acer states that specifications vary by model and region and that availability is not universal. Check the complete SKU, rather than assuming every AV16-51P has the maximum memory, storage, wireless standard or a touch display.
What makes the Vero 16 “green”?
Recycled plastic in the chassis
Acer’s December 2023 sustainability statement says the AV16-51P chassis uses a blend containing more than 60% recycled plastic, compared with 30% in the first Vero generation. Acer’s 2024 specification sheet describes this as more than 60% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material.

Ocean-bound plastic touchpad
The touchpad surface is described by Acer as using ocean-bound plastic. That statement concerns the touchpad surface, not the entire computer.
Recyclable packaging
Acer lists the packaging as 100% recyclable. Recycling outcomes still depend on the facilities and rules available in the buyer’s location.
Carbon-neutrality methodology
Acer says it works to reduce emissions across the product life cycle and then applies high-quality carbon credits to attain carbon neutrality. The cited material does not provide a model-specific net-emissions total or an independent audit result, so “carbon neutral” should be read as Acer’s stated methodology rather than proof that manufacturing or use creates no emissions.

How the Aspire Go 14 and Go 15 fit in
The Aspire Go line was positioned for everyday home and family computing rather than as a Vero sustainability model. Acer announced 14-inch and 15.6-inch versions with displays up to WUXGA resolution, up to 16 GB of memory and up to a 1 TB SSD.

Acer also promoted a dedicated Copilot key in Windows 11, Acer PurifiedVoice and collaboration features for the Go range. These are announcement-period capabilities; the exact processor, ports and wireless hardware depend on the SKU.
Launch pricing and availability
Acer announced the 2024 Vero 16 at a starting price of US$749.99 in North America from April 2024 and €1,199 in EMEA from March 2024. Those figures are historical launch prices. They do not establish today’s price, inventory or the configuration sold in a particular country.

How to interpret the environmental claims
The strongest documented points are material choices and packaging: more than 60% recycled/PCR plastic in the Vero 16 chassis, an ocean-bound-plastic touchpad surface and recyclable packaging. Acer’s carbon-neutrality statement adds lifecycle-emissions reduction and carbon credits, but the cited announcements do not establish an independently verified, like-for-like lifecycle comparison with another laptop.
There is also no controlled performance testing in the launch material. Processor speed, battery life, thermals and real-world durability should therefore be judged from an exact configuration and independent testing, not inferred from the sustainability specification.
Vero 16 or Aspire Go: which direction makes sense?
- Choose the Vero 16 if the 16-inch 16:10 screen, Core Ultra choices, larger maximum SSD and Acer’s documented recycled-material design are priorities.
- Consider the Go 14 if you want a smaller everyday laptop and prefer an Intel Core i3 N-Series or AMD Ryzen 7000 Series configuration where available.
- Consider the Go 15 if a larger, basic household machine matters more than the Vero line’s materials claims.
For any comparison, use the exact regional SKU and compare processor, display, memory, storage, ports, wireless hardware and current price. The launch announcement alone cannot establish which model is faster or offers better battery life.
