The release date was October 2, 2026. Although the dates show the milestone was announced soon after launch, the announcement does not specify the precise sales cutoff or elapsed time. The most accurate description is therefore the publisher’s claim that this is the fastest Ace Combat game to reach one million copies—not a specific number of days.
What the one-million figure does—and does not—tell us
Bandai Namco says the game surpassed one million copies, but does not define the accounting basis in the announcement. It provides no platform-by-platform numbers for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam, and no revenue or market-share figures. The claim establishes the publisher’s reported milestone and series-speed comparison, but not which platform contributed most or what drove the result.

The publisher also said the Ace Combat series had shipped more than 22 million copies worldwide. That is a franchise-wide shipment figure, not a number of copies sold to players, so it should not be treated as interchangeable with the new game’s one-million-copy announcement.

The franchise’s official ACES WEB page describes Ace Combat as fighter-pilot games set largely in Strangereal, a fictional world, and says the first entry released in 1995. The page also reports that ACE COMBAT 7 had sold more than six million copies, but does not state when that figure was published. The publisher’s launch material places the story in Strangereal and describes a conflict beginning in July 2029, when the Federation of Central Usea is invaded. Platforms and editions
The official product listing names PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam as platforms. Its Deluxe Edition listing includes the game, three days of early access, a Premium Ace Pass Plus voucher, a customizable cosmetic set, a 200-plus-page ACES at WAR: A HISTORY 2029 book, and two soundtrack LPs with a slipcover and slipmat. Announced aircraft model kits
Bandai Namco’s October 2 launch announcement also named two Hasegawa aircraft kits: the F/A-18E Super Hornet “Joker Flight” and the Su-33 Flanker D “Shadows.” It gave a planned release around November 18, 2026, for the F/A-18E kit.
