Abhishek Sharma reached his half-century in 20 balls in the men’s cricket final of the 2026 Asian Games, launching a six off Ahmed Daniyal from the last delivery of the sixth over. His innings went on to 61 from 28 balls, according to ANI’s match report.
How Abhishek Sharma reached his 20-ball fifty
Cricbuzz’s ball-by-ball commentary records the milestone on the sixth over’s final ball: Ahmed Daniyal bowled short of a good length outside off, and Abhishek stayed back to drive it over cover for six. That hit brought up Abhishek’s fifty from 20 deliveries.
Match and innings context
The fixture was the men’s cricket competition final at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on 3 October 2026. The BCCI match centre listed India as winning the toss and choosing to bat. BCCI match centre
ANI reported that Abhishek was stumped by Usman Khan off Arafat Minhas in the eighth over for 61 from 28 balls, including seven sixes and three fours. The same report put India at 211/6 after 20 overs, with Tilak Varma unbeaten on 51 from 22 balls. ANI match report

How the fifty compares with Abhishek’s previous mark against Pakistan
ANI said Abhishek’s previous fastest fifty against Pakistan in T20 internationals was a 24-ball effort in Dubai in 2025. The 20-ball half-century in this final was four balls quicker; that comparison is specifically against Pakistan in T20Is, not a claim about every T20 record.
ANI also reported India’s powerplay score as 81/2 after six overs, describing it as India’s highest powerplay total against Pakistan in T20Is and ahead of 69/0 in the 2025 Asia Cup Super Fours match in Dubai.
